Indoors or outdoors?
Climate Conditions?

Whether you are indoor or especially outdoors the best commercial weed is relative. Personally I have been doing a lot of research for a strain that finishes by Sept 30th and handles the Midwest climate. The best commercial weed for me is not even close to being the same as a guy who lives SO Cal.

yes

there are characteristics that make a genome more suited,or adapted, to its environment
Mold, pest, and disease resistance are key for outdoor growing, which is found more predominantly in sativas
I have seen incredible yields off single grapefruit plants outdoors, but it also performs outstanding indoors..all depends man

good luck^

Those listed are very good choices

This topic has been discussed soooo many times already

If you do a search for it within the strains forum, you will find all the answers you will need

Commercial doesn't just mean yield... or even taste/potency.

In some parts, its difficult to move 'normal' weed.

OGK, GDP, Purple Eurkle, LA confidential, Sour Diesel... the 'Cali' elites.

Anyone familiar with master kush,CH9 Double X or Cheese as a commercial?

For indoors big yielders are:- Critical Mass, Big Bud, Chronic. Then its a case of finding the best pheno. Also Pot of gold and the Hog are decent yielders.
Almost forgot Head seeds G13/Diesel also has some big yielding phenos as well as being super potent.

I was searching for a commercial strain too and my criteria was it has to be hardy, can deal with temperature fluctuation, doesn't hermy easy, resistant to mold and pests. Finishes early, 6-7 weeks and is a good yielder.
So I like the following strain.
AK99
Afghani #1

I already have the afghani seeds but debating whether or not to go with AK99 instead, it takes a week longer to finish but is a monster yielder especially if you're doing sog and is a much better smoke.

Jebus, around here trying to find even half assed weed is a challenge. It is what inspired me to start growing my own, NLXDT.

Anything with NL in it is going to be successful.

It depends on what the customer wants man. What's been going around your neck of the woods lately? Make sure to adjust accordingly.

thats really the best answer given in my opinion.

if you are going to be going the commerical route you better find out what your market wants, and then supply it accordingly. in my experience they want the good shit.

I HAVE NEVER HEARD A BUYER ASK FOR 'CRITICAL MASS' is what I am trying to say.

To me commercial means the strain that will make you the most money. Hence that would be the highest yielding strain that will sell. Critical mass has excllant bag appeal and will sell all day long. I agree there are nicer strains out there but then you talking personal stash.

Anyone familiar with Cheese as a commercial?

Cheese clones root with no effort,,most of the time i get 100% sucsess rate ...veg is pretty quick too,,,it grows loads of side branches so only a small amount of training is needed...

Cheese can yeald 12-15 oz....with 1 x 600w in a 1 square meter tent...its not the best yeald but its not too bad.....its normaly a 9 week strain,,but ive done it in 8 in the past, with hydro..

it likes low nutes ...in fact,,,its cheap on nutes...to get the best taste,..week 5 should be heavy on p/k, but by week 6, bring down the nute levels.... GET YOUR 10" CARBON FILTERS READY.....PUT A FILTER ON BOTH SIDES OF THE FAN!!!....THE 6TH WEEK, WILL BE WHEN IT STARTS TO MAKE YOU PARANOID!!.....low nute levels make week 6 extra stinky

Cheese is allways the most expencive weed about...it simply sells itself because it "outstinks" every other weed an people crave that extreem flava,,

Exactly, for a commercial grower the saleability and value affects the strain choice..it is a tradeoff, weight/days vs price and saleability..... In the UK [for a lot of people, not all...IME anyway...] anything will sell, but only for "the normal price"...it is hard to extract any extra money [wholesale] for Cheese [a medium yielder] or Bubba Kush [a low yielder] ... so you give them Critical Mass/Chronic/Double Dutch/Pot of Gold.

Rumours I heard of someone happily selling shedloads "Critical Mass" as "Critical MESS" say it all..... for the general public just make up interesting sounding names... one other crop that died on an NFT table due to pump failure was named "Golden Gusset" and positively flew out of the door. According a friend obviously.
