I opened a bag of Botanicare Cocogro
100% coir fibre today and want to report
on it. It is untreated coir.

It was very uniform, loose coir of good quality.
They claim longer fibres. It looked of good texture.

I took a small amount and mixed it with public water (7.2 Ph)
to make a loose slurry. I checked the Ph and it had
dropped to about 5.0-5.2 Ph.

I checked the TDS of the slurry and the PPM was about 260 PPM.
My source water is about 120 PPM TDS;

I paid $19. US for a 1.5 cu. ft. loose bag in Rhode Island USA

Seems like a decent product.

I wish I got those bags. I have never had coco that had an initial EC level lower than 2.0. I know they are out there, just haven't gotten one. I think I have tried all those that have been recommended also. Now I just stick to low budget bales and am resigned to rinsing it. :badday:

I use the same stuff in the 5k bale, it is also a very good product, and fairly inexpensive (12 Bucks a bale).

I use the 5kg bricks. I don't flush them. I just hydrate them with tap. I haven't had a problem from that so far.

I use the 5kg bricks with no flushing. I just hydrate them with my normal solution and plant.
No problems ever.
