If it's 'barney's purple' that's around norcal this season, I've tried it and liked it a lot!
It's very very tasty stuff, definitely worth growing out.

i remember reading a smoke report of this strain maybe about a year ago. I don't remember much specifically, but he had highly recommended it. It had been purchased from a club, along with Purple Dragon & Granddaddy Purp if I remember correctly, and the Barney was the cheapest and the best smoke in his opinion. I'll see if I can find the link but the search bars not agreeing with me at the moment..

purple nepal is great floral berryish smelling plant, turns black ,has a hashy oily taste, short bushy indica, needs pruning, it grows very close to Purple Indica, bushy under growth needs to be taken out,the purple nepal makes killer hash that cuts right thru the room its smoked in......purple dragon is a whole other plant .for sure...

I have seen and partook Purple Nepal from two clubs in Humboldt County, and although the buds looked nice and purple with nice trichome coverage, I thought that the potency was lacking.

would love to have some more info on the Purple Barney as well. Seems to be a little more unique smelling of a "purple strain" than most.

All I know is the norcal "Purple Barney" is a completely different plant than the "Purple Barney" that comes out of Maine. The latter is the only I've grown and smoked and it's a whole different aspect of purple than the norcal purples, very spicy and thick smoke. Tastes like rosemary, only grapey when vaped.

Intersting hearing about the Maine Purple Barney cause my buddie was just telling me about the best oldschool strain in Orono called "Barney Rubble" (as well as Purple Skunk x Kona Gold)

I dunno the guy where I got it said it was called just "barney" but i assume since barney is a purple dinosaur on tv its a purple bud when it comes down to it..... anyway- i heard today from someone that the purple nepal is something to be wreckoned with but is a low yeilder.... but i still wanna see some pix.

some of you guys said that the nepal was a short squat indica, the ones i have are all pretty tall for indicas if you ask me....

check out the pix in my gallery

both of the strains look nice but are lacking in potency. ive smoked plenty of both and have grew the nepal by accident once...i actually grabbed this one from my friend along with 40 other cuts and it got mixed in with the other cuts.

purple nepal is a great commercial strain...finishes in 45 days with dark purple buds and great weight, not dense like other purples but 45 freakin days...excellent.

45 days is all she wants maybe 50 if you push it. look at your trichs at 45 days, 50/50 amber/milky trichs. and by density, it is quite dense but not like a bubba, og, or GDP. these strains are MUCH denser than the nepal. Hardball as some call it. and the color, is dark vibrant purple. this is my experience with P-nepal, you may have a later finishing pheno, however every pheno i have seen is almost identical to the one i got. mine came from fort bragg, or is other words known as the mendo P-nepal.

smoke super!

decent enough strain. not as potent as the other purples, ie urkle and gdp but tasty dessert herb. HPRC used to always have clones of this strain, one of the slowest vegging strains ive ran besides bubba. i havent seen it there latley though. ive been flowering a few gdp each run to satisfy my purple cravings. its from berkely and finishes in 45 days solid. like all gdp its just way bigger( fast growing and nice yielding) than urple or nepal, and just as tasty.
