here's the plan:

Trying to yeild more off less, with efficiency being key.
I opted to test some new products offered by the manufactures of some new energy efficient products that will hopefully avg. Me aproximately .5 lb. Per kilowatt/hour.

The new products are Quantum Horticulture 1000 watt ballasts
And Horti-Control LF Series flip box. The rest of the gear is pre owned except I am buying a sentinel cppm-1 co2 monitor/controller unless a friend sells me his fuzzy logic cheap enough. I have an mlc4at and 8 sun tubes with a case of hortis & 2 1x used bulbs.
I'm so poor I can't afford $800 in trays, $400 in slabs, and $300 in cubes & then build an extravegant pain staking drip system, so I went home depot & picked up 8 4.75"x4.75" x 8' PVC fencepost and ripped em laterally down the middle, creating 16 pieces of NFT channel. This will occupy 8'x16'x8' 0f grow space. I am running a CEA sealed room. The intake comes from the attic which maintains about 30-40F. The exhaust will exit the tubes and duct into the living areas. I am going to run the Horti-Control LF 4 ballast flip flop to zig zag or staggered, triggering 4 hoods every 2 hours, during the 12 hour photocycle. The quantum 1000w ballasts only run at 4.25 amps @ 220v. So at roughly 17amps, I'm hoping to run twice the coverage area with half the power. The strains will be original kabers (bubba kush) & SFV OG kush. Tomorrow after a trip to the store and some intensive labor and a lot of weed

Hell ya bro, im all about this. How many square ft?. and how many watts? Your pretty much mocking what a light mover does by switching the lights every 2 hrs. But looks like you could jus do a checker pattern, which a light mover could not pull off. You also dont have to worry about the problem of light movers passing over the middle 2x in one full down and back motion. Good job man!

thanks smurfn, I am doing exactly as your suggesting, exept there is pretty consistant light coverage with the tubes wide throw. I am running 4kw with 8 hoods n bulbs with the new quantum electronic multi volts w dimmer settings and dual fans making it a lot cooler than others supposedly with up to 15% more brightness, powering a bulb to 99.9%. The system is exactly 8x16 in a 13.5x18' with about 70 sq.' of open bathroom space opened directly behind it so I can run around the system if I need to. So let's say the room is about 160sq' including the perimeter of actual growroom.

never made it to the store, so nothing got done this weekend, except trying to decide which nutrients to run. I'm 3 Par guy, but something is telling me to try floranova 1 part bloom in 1 res. Dutchmaster Gold in the other.
I want to try a comparrison between 1 part, Ancient OregonismXL, superthrive, humic/fulvic, L-aminos and Calmag+ w H202,

VS. DM Gold, roots exelurater, calmg+, superthrive with Big Bud or Bud XL, humic/fulvic, and finish off with overdrive or shooting powder. What'll y'all think?

Eh bro, the cuts are rooted, and I gotta flip the OG at 10-12" and the bubs @ 12-16". So this show is happening in less than 2 weeks. Should be interesting. Still trying to figure out what ferts I'm gonna use. Any suggestions?

a friend needed cuts ASAP so he bought some sfv from me and I ran out & grabbed most of the gear I needed to finish up the room with. I was short a little duct and some PVC but I got most the ventilation, plumbing, lighting done. as soon as I can get to a computer I'll dump the new shots here. I took more cuts for myself so the show is delayed a week or 2.. Bare with me

whatup toohigh, i figure your the same guy from the AN forums? I wouldn't back the floranova, too much bullshit involved with mixin that shit. Flora micro, gro and bloom - 20 years proven. plenty of supplements you can add and you don't save that much $$ goin with nova. just my 2 cents. you already know this don't you?? just got the sfv cut and she's a little picky, way more than bubba. i'll be watchin this one an if you feel like sharin any tips on sfv and her likes/dislikes i'd be stoked. thanx..

The trays are in the pics above. Its just pvc fencepost i cut in half down the middle making channel. I'm just putting the irrigation system together right now. As soon as I get a new regulator and controller, as well as enough clones of SFV, Kabers, & guido.
