Spontaneous flowering from stress?

There were so many sub forums above that applied to the question, so i hope i'm posting this in the right place but i'll probably get an answer.

I have a lot of Oaxacan seeds that i like to do a lot of growing experiments with, as i've found that they're a good solid plant to get a good idea of what i can get away with and what i can't.

anyway, i decided to throw a seedling in a small pot that i had filled with just sphagnum moss. She grew for a little while but seemed to be stunted at about 3 inches tall, but she was a perfect little plant. I transplanted her into soil and began giving her regular feedings after about a week of just keeping the soil moist.

About 3 days later she had pistils all over and now she's looking healthy about 3 and a half weeks into flower at 4 inches tall now.

i guess it's not a bad thing, just noteworth i guess.

Heyya Nik
Sats will do that sometimes in response to stress. Rootbinding will do it and so will not having enough light. We call it autoflowering, but I guess technically it's not.

I had an Indian Haze go into flower because one branch was not getting enough light. I think someone mentions sat autoflowering in the R.U.S.T grow thread.

Well that makes sense, seeing as this little one was not getting enough light and i think that the sphagnum moss was suffocating it somehow, probably having the same effect as being rootbound

Yeah, that'll do it.

I have a book that has a short description of how the Oaxacan Indians grow their plants. Any interest? I can cut & paste it if you want.

I just realized that not only is posting copyrighted material morally wrong, I believe it is also against the TOU.

Nik, check your rep.

AH! Thank you so much!

I really really appreciate it. I haven't been here for too long but i consider you a friend. You've been very helpful to me.

How many posts do you have to have before you can give rep?

you will, i have several in my greenhouse right now that are in the seedling stage. I have one that is just now spitting pistils at me and then the little lolita that got this whole thread to herself.

Once i'm able to post pics i will show them off. They're so cool they have very fat bladed leaves, but a outrageously strong, head-spinning, beads of sweat forming on your forehead type sativa high if you take even one hit too many.

It sucks because i would love to have someone test a few but i am the only person i know who grows. Hopefully someday i'll be able to get someone else's opinion on it.

it's not like i'm planning on selling them ever but i'm absolutely wild about it and i want to share the wealth. I want to see someone put the bong down and go "whoa..." you know what i mean?
