K so check this out. this time around has got to be a lot more stealthy. in fact, you'll never know its there except for the sound of a computer fan. No light. So i guess without further adoo (sp)

Lighted by 3 24W flourescents and there are a two computer fans.

The vents on the bottom of the door are the intakes are made with the black 90. they leak just a lil bit. so im probably gonna be throwing one of those white air vent kinda deals but paint it black.

lets see here. things still to do to it. I gotta install the rest of the fan system. on top of the box (outside) ill have 3 inch pvc pipes running into a carbon filter and out the back of the desk. weather stripping around the door. and then some plants.

This looks nice!
I like to see some nice craftsmanship go into smaller stuff.
No doubt the buds will be top notch.

thanks for the comments guys. considering after i got busted last time, i took my time and did a lot of brainstorming to come up with this design. I am going to home de pot today to get the weather stripping, vent thingy, and pvc peices necessary and some spray paint. if you look at the walls, standard brush on paint does not stick to this walmart pressboard desk material. lol Then off to a dollar store to find a power adaptor for my fans. just caulking after that and ill be up and running on my mom cab. Then i gotta design the main event. ugh... i might be hiring some professional help for it so stay tuned.

alrighty!! mom cab all done and we even have some sprouters!!!

so check it out. its vented by two computer fans, lighted by 3 23w cfl's. the vent system is 3' black pvc pipe. just thought yall would like to see the finished product.

the black tray on the bottom is just an old humidity dome that i chopped up and fitted to the new cab to give the floor some waterproofin. so yeah. without further adoo.

Great job man. I just finished building a stealth cab myself. Your craftsman ship is much better than mine! =]

salgjkhaf, nice job. k+

flat ceiling white paint is a pretty decent reflective finish.

This is beautiful work - just perfectly simple, functional, and neat. You did mention something about the paint not sticking - I'd try to work that out cos man, that cab would be glowing very nicely indeed if it was all white! I even do the roof. Maybe mylar or similar? Even a few of those disposable alfoil plates used as reflectors on the roof above the CFLs would kick it up a level.

Not that any levels need to be kicked up, mind you - this is an awesome cab!

I had the same problem with paint scratching off. I used latex primer and it stuck good enough to put top coat on it. It's white enough by itself to reflect nicely. Flat ceiling white is best imo.

ok. so after pondering a bit more, (i dont know why it took pondering), i agree. i need to step up the relfectivity of the mom cab a bit. so,

here's what im thinking, mylar. with some spray adhesive. but not the expensive mylar you buy at hyrdo stores or online, no. thats not dyi!!

i'm thinking the back of some of that really cheap wrapping paper. yall know what im talking about, or if worst comes to worst, a survival blanket.

do yall know what im talking about when i say the wrapping paper? if you do,
where do i get some?

Click the "Go Advanced" button. Once there, click the "ICMag Gallery" button above the Title field. A pop-up (you'll have to allow pop-ups for ICMag) window will give you several options. Click and drag pics into post. I haven't actually done this yet so forgive me if it doesn't work. Nice work on the cab. I like the fit of the tray inside.

disco,

i dont see any go advanced button. all i see is two silver buttons. one says icmag gallery and the other says forum albums. when i click icmag button, a pop up opens to show my gallery but when i drag the pic into the post, it just turns my first window into my gallery. im friggni confused!!!

and i just lucked out that the tray was just the right width. but thanks man.

keke,

uh. as far as how much i've got into this cab. uh. in pvc i probably got 20 bucks. wood, another 15. lights were on clearance for 10. sockets for lights were 9. and timer for 5. fans were 15

under 100 bucks and i couldve done it cheaper. :joint:
