Got my place, equipemnt- now i need a plan

6" super sun 2 A/c Hood
2 6" vortex fans
1 6" axial fan
1 40 lb carbon filter


fox farm grow big, big bloom, tiger bloom, open sesame, beasty bloomz, cha ching. ph up down ph tester....

so how many plants should i put in the tent? i was not sure if i should do soil again or go hydro this time if i went hydro.... what hydro system would go good with those nutes also i know i will have to get the hydro versoin of ff grow big if i decide to grow hydro.... if i go soil what size gallon buckets should i use to fit 16 in there im shooting for 1-2oz per plant hoping for 2lbs at best off the 1k

any advice? merry christmas everyone

anyways, I've been researching this cannabis growing business for like 5 yrs got a couple grows under my belt with limited success. You got a lot of good equipment, I especially like how you went with a 1000w. Wish I could afford that kind of gear...
anyways first things first...

you going from seeds or clonez? how many? what kind?

im thinking of running 16 is what i wana do not 2 sure if i wanna do soil or hydro but im looking to grow 1-2lbs

Personally I would go with a COCO bed with A&B Nutrients with PK 13/14 for flower..I'd just fill that bed with clones kind of collosiumming it you would get 2p's easy from that.....if everythiing goes smoothley that is, good luck

Actually 600 watt lamps are more efficient (5% more or so), so if money and space aren't limiting factors (600s are probably less efficient from an up-front cost POV, and without the right space 1000 watt lamps tend to use space better AFAIK) they're the way to go. Plus they're easier to cool.

NorCal, you can get 1-2 lbs out of a single 1000w lamp.

I've never heard of anyone choosing their hydro method based on their nutes. I don't think it matters. In fact I suspect nutes are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY overrated by growers, but that's just my (educated) suspicion.

Ebb and flow is much easier than DWC (I've tried both), but I've heard DWC gets better growth. I'd highly reccomend Ebb and flow for a beginner, over DWC. Ebb and flow is a snap.

In my experience (coming up on my 3rd real grow, so I'm not a guru by a long shot), what I'd have gone back in time from now to tell myself then is, "don't put the goddamn light so close to the girls, you'll burn 'em!"

If you see buds growing in the hot spot with no or much fewer hairs, you're probably burning them. I keep my 1k much higher than anyone ever recommended I keep it back when I was asking lots of questions.

Oh yeah, one more thing - train your girls! Don't let them slack off. LST, supercrop, SCROG, or a combination, but do something. The plants I've grown don't make bushes by themselves, at least not proper ones. They need lots of help. I LST during veg, bend (is that supercropping, sometimes my memory isn't what it should be) during the flowering stretch. I plan to start SCROGging though, my current method is too much work (girls fighting against me); LST during veg, then SCROG during flower.

Hey what up............Sounds like a nice start to some nice smoke (just need to sort out a couple of things).........I personally run a 5 gallon DWC system with no res (currently... I have 2 reservoirs but dont use them.....right now I only run 5 buckets so no need) and the results have been great so far. I have grown in dirt for a while now and am loving the faster growth you get with hydro. Seriously I don't even remember the reason that I never grew hydro before (maybe it was the extra money that it cost, for buckets and pumps and what not, by dirt costs money so ??) but I will promise you that I will never go back to dirt EVER.

So I guess I would say go hydro, dwc or ebb n flow.........

Or you know what? Really it's about what you want to pay for, I guess hydro is a bit more expensive, but in my opinion I would say spend the most you can cuz you know it will be coming back to you soon

i have my friend coming by this weekend to help me design a plan he also has some killer genetics i have tried of some grape ape that smelled awesome...

i think he is going to build me a DWC system but im not sure what he can come up with i have a few diferent areas i can grow in....

I went soil just because it seems to be less work...the soil retains water...so less watering...also was told you get a better yield and quality from organic soil...I tried hydro a few times and I guess it didn't go so well...damn res temps usually get me...unless someone has a hydro set-up that doesn't have to be re-adjusted twice a day...I remember re-adjusting the ph twice a day and having to add epsom salt because of the pure blend pro not having magnesium or some shit..

I just got 5 humboldt purple nepal and 5 "barneys" anyone know about the barney? or anything about the nepal I haven't read too much about either besides the nepal everyone seems to like and I hear the barney gets big other than that I dont know too much about them i got those 10 under a fluro wile there still little clones no point in using 1k in energy to veg some little clones, In about a week I want to move them to a 400w CMH or MH either that or just get a killer t5 432 watt 8 bulb 4 foot fluro setup for vegging all my clones then just move them to the 1k hps what sounds best

Norcal - Hey! Just checking out your sig - did you finally get relocated to your destination of choice? Looks like you are finally getting your show on the road. Congratulations! In a another year or two you'll have 10k going and be making the rest of your plan come true.

I've got a 400w metal halide and a 4' - 6 bulb T-5. The plants grow better, bigger, faster under the MH.

I think im going to order a 400w hps ballast and run CMH in it, i think imo it vegges better than MH i can get a ballast and hood for 100$ and a cmh bulb i think is 50$ so 150 all together a good veg setup anyway
