I remember back in the day, the Commodore Amiga had a very similar problem to 360. The cpu's used to get so warm that they would expand and push the contacts out on the cpu socket.. as soon as it cooled back down, poor contact = dead. This happened only to very intensely used amigas, and was known locally as "chip creak"

Every 7*c you knock off a component's temperature, doubles its theoretical lifespan. This is certainly the case with processors.

Xbox360 doesn't, to me, have enough space in the case for the correct ventilation.

my son saved up to buy his 360 and after a month the HD failed, the box still works but screw that

Cooling is a major factor with the Xbox 360. I've always had an external cooling fan.

Reading the posts back, it seems I'm not the only one that gets "chick aggro" when they're playing.

If there's ANYTHING that's brought me closer to divorce, it hasn't been my insane consumption of drugs and illicit substances....it hasn't been me being lazy or inattentive.....it's been my Xbox 360....

There's nothing that drives my chick more bat-shit than me playing online.

She pulls the SAME routine EVERY time I play......she'll come walking in pretty much whenever I start playing...and say the following: "Are you almost done?".

That drives me up a f*cking wall. I want to take whatever weapons I have in the game and unload them all simultaneously on her.

She insists that I can play "when she's not around"...which is almost NEVER.

What the hell is up with chicks hating on the 360? I could be out schtooping other broads, or getting into all sorts of nonsense...
But playing safely on the couch twists my broads nipples hard. Dunno what I could do to rectify that without 1) murder, 2) divorce, 3) ear plugs.

Boy to I feel lucky now and have more respect for her. The only problem we have is who's gonna play next, me or her LOL

microsoft doesnt even see your xbox b4 they ship you a new one. it just goes to a ups warehouse where they have a stack full of new ones to ship out. you send it to ups. and they ship you a brand new one. the reason we all get shitty ones. is because they probably want to go thru old stock and get rid of them and hope some of them work and they dont have to replace them. b4 they start turning out new units for customers. i for one would like to get one that works for more than 6 mos. im in the process of sending out my 4th or 5th one now. to boot. i called up and they give you a run around about sending it it now.. when i finally got someone on the phone she goes, u can ship and pack it from any ups store...

wait.. no. your going to send me a box. she then goes oh ok.. but your console is out of warrenty there may be some fees for repair.. i said uhh.. NO> this is an xbox you sent me as a replacement... then the lightbulb goes on with her. that i said that 50 times already... and she agrees..

I definitely understand what you mean. Luckily, I haven't had a problem with my 360 (Pro) yet. I'm thinking that I got a later release or perhaps I've just had good luck. I've been playing it fairly steadily for over a year now and, so far, all is well. I do have a few gripes of my own with Microsoft, though. For one, they broke my audio when the NXE upgrade was released. I have to do the HDD trick to get my sound to work on every reboot/cold boot. It is very annoying and they haven't fixed it yet (almost two months I believe.) Also, their $100 wireless internet antenna sucks balls. The reception is terrible, granted, I am stealing wireless from my neighbors but come on. I bought a Linksys WMP54GX w/ 3 arm antenna for less than $100 and it has amazing reception. I also hate how they try to milk you for every cent online (icons, wallpapers, etc.)

my xbox got RROD after about 8 months. sent it back and got another one.

this one is having disc reading problems sometimes it wont read a game and i gotta restart. it also makes some LOUD ass noises sometimes.

plyaing COD for hours straight probably does not help.
