Had a strange sore on my leg that hurt like the devil.It didn't look like it would hurt as much as it does.So I went to the Emergency Room after picking my wife up from work at the very same hospital.ER Doc looked it over and asked questions.Came back 5 minutes later and said I had Shingles.Scripted me an anti-viral drug and prednisone.I can hardly walk and it feels like my leg is on fire and being stabbed at same time.This is just one more hurdle.Doc scripted me Vicodon for pain but being on 480mg of Oxys makes me not want to tkae anything else.I had heard shingles was painful.I just wasn't aware that it would be this bad.Kept me up all night.I have some UK Cheese and Violator Kush and some Carmella Creme hash and Temple Ball hash-thank God I have great friends.Peace and One Love-anyone who can give me any tips on how to get rid of this fast-feel free! I know what you are going through as i had it quite abit back all up one arm started as a small rash then spread all the way up my arm.It was the worst pain i had ever felt the burning and the iching and the stabbing as i have not even had a broken bone .In the uk, we have a cream that helps sooth the pain its called calamine-cream .

I got the simplest, healthiest and fastest way to get rid of your shingles bro:

It's called "Monolauric Acid". It goes by a bunch of brand names: Monolaurin, Lauricidin, etc.

Do a search on "Monolauric Acid" online for a distributor. It's not the kind of thing you'd find at a pharmacy, healthfood store or grocery store (which is surprising).

The reason you won't find it in those places is because not many individuals know about its' existence.

I will tell you that it will wipe out practically any "encapsulated" virus. Shingles and herpes are caused by "encapsulated" viruses.

I just wanted to add one thing: when I said "wipe out" I don't mean it will eradicate things like herpes from your body. Unfortunately there's no known cure at this point in time. He has an outbreak of shingles, he doesn't have to worry about outbreaks. He was probably given acyclovir, which is more effective in virally infected cells. It has never been shown to cause cancer.

I feel your pain, I was on methotrexate for RA when I had a breakout (because my lowered immune system) I never had chicken pox as a kid and apparantly my son was a carrier one day but didn't get them. I let mine go a couple weeks not knowing what it was, but when I found out was put in the hospital. After I got out I was put on valtrex. I haven't taken valtrex in years and haven't had a breakout

I've had shingles and the best thing I found to help an outbreak was large quantities of vitamin B12. It really knocked down the intensity and duration of the outbreaks. Remember it's a water-soluble vitamin so you don't have to worry about taking too much, you'll just piss out the excess.

Shingles is the chicken pox virus that is in your body for years till something wakes it.Mostly stress and stressful situations are the cause.Anyone who has not had chicken pox can get chicken pox from me .So I ask everyone who will be around me if they have had cp or the vaccine.Its going down but very slowly.The pain from it is intense.Thanks for the help all-BigD

mrred, sounds like your ketone levels are way up, you better not wait to get that checked. Check your sugar levels now!!! If you start to feel sick and start huffin and puffin it's your body tryin to get rid of the excess carbon dioxide building up. If that happens get to the hospital right away it means your getting close to going into a diabetic coma!!! Your condition is nothing to fool around with! That happen to my son, he spent 3 days in the hospital and then was medivaced to another Major hospital and was in intensive care foe 8 days...we almost lost him. Thats when he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes...we had him tested every year since he was born because my grandmother was a diabetic and they say it skips a generation!

Hey BigD. good job on the A1C. My last one was at 6.1. My best ever. I have been type1 for almost 35 years now. mrred I know about the sweats. Thats what happens when my blood sugar gets low. But the pain and protein in urine comes from extented periods of hyperglcemia(high sugars) I would suggest you see an endocrinologist ASAP.

This is what i was going to recommend. i know this is a medical Mj forum, but for neurological pain (nerve damage from shingles, nerve damage from diabetes) lyrica is hands down the best drug on the market with Neurontin (gabapentin) following up for a close second. Take care, friend. and for anyone else with this problem: take notice.
