Obama Legalization needs you

M

moses224

We wanted to let you know that the first round of voting for the Ideas for Change in America competition will end this Wednesday, December 31 at midnight Pacific Time.

The idea you have voted for, "Marijuana has accepted medical use in the United States," is currently in 8th place in the Other category, and needs 986 more votes to qualify for the final round.

If you think this idea deserves the attention of the Obama Administration, you can help increase its chances of reaching the final round by emailing the following link to friends and encourage them to vote:

www.change.org/ideas/view/marijuana_has_accepted_medical_use_in_the_united_states

You may also want to try posting the link on Facebook or your blog to raise further awareness.

If you have any questions, please let us know. Also note that the final round of voting, which will include the top 3 ideas in each category, will begin next Monday and end just before the Presidential Inauguration in mid-January.

Best of luck!

Yes,they got enough votes,at least to bring the issue to the top.

Please take the time to get involved in your own security, not to mention your freedoms and rights. There is another thread discussing this issue here:
http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=107156

There are 2 websites out there that are asking for input from the citizenry. One is the Obama Biden transition website change.gov...and another that appears to be an independent website change.org (at least it appears that way to me.)

Cannabis legalization seems to be a hot topic on both...You can check the rankings here for change.org...look under the Criminal Justice section.

I might add that the topic of legalization leads all topics in all categories on this website.

For the change.gov website you can click on the following link..but be sure to let the page completely load,as the topics are archived and have to be retrieved.

Obama doesn't give a shit about legalization. Plain and simple...he can say what he want but I would be willing to bet he does NOTHING for the legalization movement in the next 4 years...

Agreed, Spo. We have to bring the issue to *him* Nothing will happen unless we make it happen. Now, the one issue he did promise was to stop all DEA raids on dispensaries on day 1 of his administration. If that happens, then perhaps this will spur on more states to pass med mj laws. Then the ball gets rolling and eventually med mj is the law of the land. But, full-on legalization or decrim? I doubt that will happen even if he's prez for 8 years. Hemp is another issue I think Obama would go for considering his pro-alternative energy stance.

The first round of voting is now over.Keep checking back, but I believe that the next round will be coming shortly.

As far as Legalization is concerned..we need to keep pushing the issue, and being vocal as well. These politicians won't do anything we want if we just roll over and play dead.

Agreed, we have to be vocal and force his hand. I think he is willing to listen if we put pressure but I don't know what he will be able to do with out pressure from us.

Indeed! Remember also that there is a ton of violence going on just south of the border due to our prohibitionist stance on MJ. The more pressure from different angles, the more likely something will be done to change the status quo.

Yea we have to win over texas and all the border states that way. If people ever take a rational look at prohibiton they see there is no way to exterminate cannabis without doling out death penalties for testing positive. As gypsy's sig quote says it can all start from a seed, even if all the cannabis in the world was eradicated we could still bring it back from a few seeds.
