Just wanted to let you know I found those Gh pumps at a grow store not to far from here for like $59.99 plus tax, so Im gonna go pick one up soon (probably tomorrow) right now I have been using some Aqua Air pumps (made by hydrofarm I believe) and they work good for like $13 a piece they have a dual outlet. I figured I would use one pump (the aqua air pumps I mean) per one or two buckets that way I could move them one (or two) at a time into
bud (I dont have a major operation, mostly personal for me and a few friends) But I figure why not go ahead and upgrade the equipment (I should have just did that in the beginning but either way) And plus Im gonna do a 18 gallon rubbermaid DWC with two 4 inch net pots in the next couple of days so I can see how it works on that.

You think two 4 inch pots would be cool, I dont want to grow to much of a monster cuz it might get to much bigger than the other girls and then I will have a lighting problem..... Let me know

Perfect, that's what they should be! Yeah, I agree go ahead and upgrade your equipment - IT ALWAYS PAYS FOR ITSELF. Also, those GH pumps are great because they only use 0.2 amps, YES 0.2 amps!! heheh

two 4" in a 10gal should be fine. I like to give mine 5gal capacity per plant, so that would definitely fall within those guidelines. Good luck bro, keep me posted ;-)

Update: Veg Day 29

Update: Well...got everything done earlier today, and as promised I am posting some shots we took. Flushed each bucket, mixed new nutes right around 600ppm, and re-positioned them. They are now in their final resting spots under each 1000w. Because of the re-position, I have turned on both light rails as well.

Also got the new bubble cloner up and going, with new cuts from each of the 6 star plants. The others...or at least 4/6 just didn't take off like the others, and therefore we will probably phase them out eventually. I moved the seedlings (1-c99, 2-bubblicious, 1-sdxogkusg) over into the bubble cloner as well. Light dose of Liquid Karma, and these ladies should be rootin in no time ;-).

Well...after noticing the nute water temps raising into the low 80's, we decided to insulate all the buckets, pumps, line with Reflectix hoping to combat our problem. We were a bit lazy in the sense that we are waiting until after this grow to connect the buckets all to a recirc system....but I am fairly certain this will take care of the slightly high temps and bring our solution back down into the 60's-70's. I also plan to cover the top of the black netpot lids with the reflectix because I believe these are reading absorbing the heat and thus heating up the nutrient solution.

Water stops retaining dissolved oxygen once heated to 82 degrees F. So remember to keep it away from 82...the lower the better! The lower the water temp, the more DO it will have!

Also added tops to all the buckets... I really like the way this Reflectix looks - its sexy ...I almost want to do my whole next grow with it, but its A LOT more expensive than black/white poly...sigh...

Looking good Spo: Man it seems like its been about 20 posts since the last time I responded, but anyways I purchased one of those gh pumps like you said and hooked it up to a 18gallon rubbermaid dwc that I set up last night. (Im only using 2 of the air outlets..I like how you can just turn the others off very easily) Im running 2 plants in that, I'll post some pics on my thread later (hopefully, or maybe tomorrow)

What is that you are using to insulate the buckets?? I think I know what it is but cant think of the name, also did you just choose that yourself or is that something you read about?? Can you buy it at the dePOT

Also I like the beer shots, Lots of fat tire around here. but I havent had the other one (macTARNHANS?) I love the micro brews and darker stuff though so Im gonna look for it next time Im at a "REAL" liquor store (you know with a large selection) I know for sure they dont sell it where I usually go..

Hell yeah dude, nice work. Yeah, those pumps are really nice - not to mention you can get diaphram rebuild kits for them too...they'll last damn near forever!

Stuff I used was Reflectix...basically just a reflective bubble wrap insulator. You can get it just about anywhere like the dePOT, Lowe's, or Menard's - whatever ya got. I have seen a couple other people do this, but I was initially planning on using Black/White Poly but found the Reflectix worked MUCH better for blocking light and heat.

Yeah, I am a big fan of quality beer heh....however it can be tough sometimes finding a REALLY good selection. World Market, believe it or not has a GREAT beer and wine selection.

Hey hey, thanks for keepin me on track bro. The Reflectix made a HUGE difference. I was amazed at how much cooler it keeps the buckets. I will have actual data for ya technical ones later ;-). Yes, Reflectix is safe to use, and actually is a great wall liner, it is just more expensive than black/white poly. To Do all the buckets, I used a 16" x 50' roll...and have a good chunk left over. It ran about $30-$35 for the roll, if I recall. But it is DEFINITELY worth it!!

As far as the dePOT or Lowe's...dePOT is the good ol standard, but I like to switch it up and go to Lowe's too. It just depends I guess lol...

I've try aeroponic and i enjoy it although i grow mostly in soil...I'll follow this wicked thread, respect to ur work Spo.

Im not really having any problems with temps right now but Im just beginning to prepare for the summer time temps. Have you had to run that a/c yet or do you have it on a temp timer? I turned on one of my 400 Hps in the bloom room the other night and Im gettin light on temps of around 73 F now with that and the 1000 HPS, its gonna snow tonight so Ill check the temps later on when the lights come on, but I already know Im gonna have a heat problem come summer.

i have all new ventilation in my rooms, ALL new i probably doubbled the airflow atleast! hooked it up tonite, have been working with trimming and rigging the new room setup for 2 days straight. slept only hours on the couch.

glad i found the thread, ill be lurking, well done man. as i said looks very nice, i love the garage door hehe, thats pro!

Hey guys, thanks for sticking around!! I will have pics up in a day or so of the progress ;-). Then I will be gone the 8th-12th.... and plan on flipping them to 12/12 as soon as I get back. On a side note, starting moving things into the new house and will begin the new thread soon (once I get back and get construction going..heh).

anyway, i understand the need to insulate the buckets and that Reflectix looks uber easy to work with and it even sounds relatively easy on the pocket so, i guess my question is, did you opt for the Reflectix on the walls for it's insulative properties and ease of installation rather than just painting the walls flat white? with white paint having like, 90 % reflectivity, i can't imagine that the Reflectix beats it by much in that department.

Thanks for stopping by ;-). Personally, I usually use Black/White Poly; however a close friend wanted to try out the Reflectix. A lot of growers have been using it for BOTH the insulating and reflective properties. In this grow, we needed a way to insulate as well - being as how we are in a garage-type setting.

I would never go back to soil, not to mention it'd be pretty hard to convince me to switch to any other hydro method either. I am not having problems with room temp really...sticking right around 76-78 WITHOUT my fan on . Haven't even had to think about running A/C yet. So hopefully the summer will be a "breeze lol....
