Water ph for coco?

I'm curious as to what ph level you guys shoot for when watering your coco.(I'm talking about water and nutes mixed together, not straight water) Do you ph like your watering soil, or ph as you would a hydro system?
I shoot for 6 and they seem to be happy. I've gone as high as 6.5 with no noticable diference, but never loewer than 6. I use GH flora nutes, all 3 bottles.
Just curious as to others experiences when it comes to ph and coco. :joint:

I've been using Coco for a little over a year now with a PH range of 5.8 to 6.1 and have had great results. Never a problem.

I use the 3 part GH as well. But I have my coco pots (mother) in a flood and drain tray and flood that 2 times per day. I do not use drip or hand water. I was having a small odor in my coco but I think I fixed that with Cannazyme for Coco from Canna. I only smelled it when I was repotting or dumping the pots out. Plants seem happier with the Cannazyme / Cocozyme or something like that.

Anyway.........Sounds like your right in the "Sweet Spot" PH wise.

I shoot for 5.8, plain water or nute solution. I use BioBizz nutes.

Pirate, an odour would indicate a lack of oxygen in a part of your coco and anaerobic bacteria producing the odour. Perhaps your coco is too fine and sticking/clumping together.

Thank you for that. I'll keep that in mind. However, I am switching my system out for a 12 bucket flood a drain type. You know......12 buckets, 55 gallon rez, controller, etc. But still good to know for when I eventually switch back to coco. (variety is the spice of life, right?)

Seems like most of of us (at least the 3 of us, lol) are on the same page with ph.
I was reading an interesting article about ph and nutrient availability to the plant, and thats what got me curious about how others are doing it. thanks guys

I shoot for a of pH 6. If it's a little lower or higher I don't sweat it.

My Kalichakra seems to be sensitive to a pH above 6 in coco. She isn't really happy until I get down to 5.8, and it seems to like a 5.7 even better. The OG S1 has the same sensitivity. Nothing else I've got seems to really care, as long as I'm between 5.5 and 6.1. I hand water. I'm always sure not to let the coco dry out.

I think 5.5 - 6.2 puts you in range for most everything. Watch out for Rhizotonic! Great root stimulator but, takes the PH up.

I've never heard of adding dolomite lime to coco before. I use canna nutes and ph my water between 5.8-6, then add my nutes, I've had no problems... love the canna line.

Can you guys suggest a meter that would work for me whilst not breaking the bank?? I think I might want to start checking my ph. I too added dolemite lime to mine but still wanna chack ph. i guess.

I know ph is hard to check in organic compost teas.
