What's new

12 Buckets and 1200 Watts...

Hey, looking super nice. Whats up with your cloner. I dont think Ive seen that b-fo...looks like a good DIY deal. Howd'ya build it??? I did something real similar about 1 year ago ((actually I cant even remember when I built it...... been smokin the good shit 2 long...hard time conseptualizeing (<did I really just try and spell that word?>) time passed)). But it worked good. I used a submerged pump with a riser and 4 way hooked up to 4 sprayers (yard sprinkler type...mounted underneath) and it worked good. Is that what ur doing.......

Either way Hydro ur clones are looking cool.
Oh yeah what light are you running them (clones) under? If you stated this earlier and I missed it I apologize. I run a similar tray under a simple floro setup I bought (should have DIY more myself).

Keep Growing and Posting Cuz we Love it.

I got the cloner idea from some I saw modeled here at IC..Just a 10 gallon Rubbermaid with a Mag Drive pump all connected to some 1/2 PVC with the misters. Probably the same one you had. I put mine together for about 30 bucks ( Already had the pump from another project). I like building things so this hydro hobby I have is great. I am always trying to improve my grow room and help streamline the processes going on in there...:canabis:

I have them sitting under some shop floros right now and the cloner tub is sitting on a heating mat to keep the temps nice and comfy so I can get some roots...:joint:

hey man this is a great thread . i have somthing simular to yours . 6 buckets with a control buck , but no reservoir . works great . mom are monster. to big to flower now.i left 17 inches from center of the buckets and now everything is CROWED,overlapping.

. i was looking at the pic but cant tell, do you have a feed line and another return line . in the pics it looks like just one line with a 1/4 inch line running to the top of the buckets ..

. i plan to make another for flowering , how close can i get the bucket. do i need 1 foot per plant or can i make the buckets touch if im only vegging for 2 or 3 weeks.

. props to ya .

Welcome greenhornets :joint:

Yeah I run a seperate feed line from my controller. I have the res attached just to keep everything supplied with nuts. The feed line itself is just the 1/2 inch black tubing with the barbs connected with the 1/4 feed lines to each bucket for the whole recirculation effect..:canabis:

System was really easy to build and as we can see the results are looking amazing. The moms are recovering nicely from the cuts taken on last night as well as the clones. Doing very nice.

No real pic updates so I won't post any this time.

Peace and stay safe....:smoke:

Hey SpoCannabis, yeah neither one of those is the thread I used, but real similar. (Small rubbermaid container, submersible pump, riser, 4 way, tubing and sprinkler spinnners, or whatever they are called, mounted underneath lid.) As always thanks though. I have been using a EZ Cloner, from a friend of mine, for about 2 months now and it works great.

They all work good.

Its crazy how motivated these plants are to grow!!!

Keep up the posts Hydro, Im enjoying all the new info.

Those are looking pretty sexy....and healthy as hell. Ive have always started from clones, but I am planning ordering some beans soon after the New Year. You are doing nice job.. Keep up the good growin and posting.

Oh yeah I was having the same problem with heat(getting way to cold) so I went and purchased one of those floor heaters. Lasko namebrand or something like that from Sams Club it was $53.00 or close to it. I just put it in the 12/12 room last night cuz the cold temps I was having were during the day so today is the first day I ran it.
It has a digital thermostat and it oscillates. Its pretty cool. Model # 5588 Lasko. Its 34" ceramic Heater. It worked out super nice today, but then again the temps outside were like 36 F. I figure better to have one than not.
Let me know what you do.

Gotta love those upskirt shots  How much do you think those girls will
stretch before they start packing on some weight? Everything is looking great
bro. Would you mind explaining how the res. and controller work a little more?
Im a little new to the whole recirculating idea but I find it interesting. Just
wanted to stop by and let ya know Im still lurking :smoke: Keep it green man.

What's good TylerDurden?...:joint:

I am hoping they are almost done stretching...:drum: They are starting to develop more side growth and and branching out nicely. Looks pretty good for some bagseed. I found two that I think are males and I gotta get them out soon, but my clones are coming along so hopefully I can have a good supply of this in the future.

Basically the res is just a top off supply for the whole system. And the controller makes sure none of the buckets ever run dry by maintaining a consistent water level throughout the whole system.

The Res...Its a $13.00 32 gallon trash can from Lowes. It has a 1/2 ebb and drain fitting at the bottom with some 1/2 tubing that goes to the controller. I threw a shutoff valve on there in case I ever need to shutoff from the rest of the system.

The controller....18 gallon Rubbermaid with 4 3/4 ebb and flow fittings cut into one end for the drain (return) lines. Spaced about 2 inches apart. Right above those I have another 1/2 ebb and flow fitting ( feed line supply) that is connected to a submersible pump which sits in the controller.

The pump inside the controller runs 24/7 constantly feeding each bucket with the nutrient solution. I threw the airstones in my controller to help with o2. Each bucket has a feed line and an airline that supplies food and bubbles to each plant so that as long as that pump in the controller is running the whole system "recirculates"...

I hope that explains it a little for you man....if you need more pics or anything let me know...:joint:

Some more updates...12/22/08

Just switched to half strength Flora Bloom nuts..

pH: 5.7

PPM's: 1200

Sounds like you have your set-up pretty well made ;-). Nice call on the shut off valve from the res - great idea!

Merry MotherTrucking Christmas to you and yours........(unless your Jehovah's witness...in that case my bad)

Its nice that Tylerdurgen asked some of the same questions I have had (but never asked). I love the pics of the res and controller.
I like how you have a larger res with a smaller controller......(NewB, never knew the diff between the two containers) The setup I puchased (that Im not even using) has the same size res, and controller bucket which where designed to stack on one another. I was thinking about upgrading to a larger res and keeping the control bucket (with the float valve) the same (I think its like 13 or 18 gallon Im not sure). So I'll keep you updated.

Glad to hear you have the heater issue under control. I can't really tell a difference yet with the plants as far as the warmer temps are concerned. I have been keeping the room around 67 F during "their night" and around 65 F during "their day" (I dont run the heat right now with the light on, still figuring out the temp range) I'm sure that the not letting the temps drop very low has to be good for the ladies.

Im gonna go ahead and post some pics of one of the ladies (my oldest DWC plant) as of 20 days 12/12

White Widow day 20 flower pics

Nice grow and nice roots dude. I also had some mutant leaves at first. But being this new of a grower, I did not know if that was "normal", or a warning sign ect.,ect. You are very lucky to be able to run that big of a system. Awesome. Looking forward to watching the rest of your grow.

What's Good Everyone?

I am still around. All is well. Christmas was good. Ate good. Smoked better... Looking forward to the New Year. The Ladies are really taking off but I didn't wanna kill you guys with the beginning flower shots. They have been on 12/12 for about a week and a half and are really starting to show good preflowers....slight change of plans on the flowering as well. I found two boys early on that I took out of the garden and now I have another one that I found last night. I think I will just let it stay there and have some seeded bud for this first go round since this plant seems like it will be very easy to grow. Plus I will have a stash of seeds if I ever wanna run this again....

*****Update********

The first batch of clones I took in the aerocloner all died.. :violin:

...So...I went old school with the Rapid Rooters and a some Olivia's Cloning Gel w/ the humidity dome. Took about 16 new cuts and had roots in like 5 days. Trying to setup a perpetual thing over here and need to calculate my veg times and flowering times since this is bagseed.

I will take some more pics tonite and update you all..

Hope everyone had a good Christmas and is looking forward to 2009!!!

Be Safe and Smoke On...... :joint:

Hey HydroFarmer, good to hear everythings going good on your end. Thanks for the great answer to my question, really helped me out alot  and Im glad it answered some of hehateme19's questions too. Sorry to hear that the first clones didnt work out for you. From what Ive read about others using an aerocloner, it seems like alot of people have some kind of trouble with them especially in the beginning. The only thing Ive tried to use so far is rockwool and some rooting hormone, so far 100% success rate :D. Glad to hear the rapid rooters are working. I hope to see the pictures up soon :smoke: and that the rest of your holiday goes well. Take it easy man, peace.

Some Updates

Some Updates

Hello Everyone and Happy New Year!!! :joint:

Just some quick pic updates since the ladies are starting to really show some good signs of flowering.

Ph: 5.7

PPMs: 1245

Temps: 67 degrees

These are some of the rooted clones I added about 2 days ago...seeing what they do going straight into 12/12.

The Male... :muahaha:

Looking super sweet my farming friend. I am interested as well at checking out how those clones do going straight into a 5 gallon. Are you just going to leave them at there current distance from the light or are you going to get them up higher (oh I guess that would screw up the res flow right?)

Either way I love the way the grow is looking. Keep it up and keep us posted brotha.
Oh yeah one other question....how tall would you say those plants are from the top of the 5 gallon bucket??

I have done this several times in past grows, and this current one with no problem. Makes it easier if you start with a well rooted clone, but either way it can be done quite easily
