Come back when you have some flowers.

Girls have hairs. Males grow clusters like grapes.

the third and fifth picture definitly looks like males. male preflowers have an "overbite" and females dont. not all female preflowers have hairs so i would wait till something really shows up. but in my opinion its a male. def keep us updated, what strain is that? purple in the strain or cold temps?

Damnit... I think its a male too... finna let it go for longer anyway tho, and I might just make somethin with the pollin if it is, cuz this would be the dankest smellin and lookin male I ever seen. Its a homemade cross of Goo X Purple Kush, the purple color is genetic.

I've been fooled too many times to make a determination from those shots.
I have seen them for sure look fem, and pop nothing but nanners, and visa-versa.
Everything that is pre-flower can change...IMO. It's the only way I can explain those that are for sure male, and turn out full on fem...or visa versa. (or most likely I am simply getting anxious and not waiting the proper amount of time before determining sex)
Until there are hairs, or male flower clusters, it is still a toss-up.
A week will tell the tale.

My last seed pop, I had a full on male that went hermie once in 12/12 flower. Now that freaked me, as I had never seen that before. Clusters everywhere, and top bud out of nowhere sprouts the nicest bunch of pistols.

My sister's cousin's best friend's dad said there was this guy who knew a shopkeeper that said that DJ Short says those males produce the most vigorous offspring and you should keep it.

Or something like that. :) (Worth looking into for sure)

I've heard several reports now that people notice increased vigor and genetics from seed pollinated from one of these Hermie males. Most often the flower is sterile so no seeds from the male plant. The pollen is what you want. :)

I've been told that the seeds from hermies are actually the "feminized seeds", or seeds more likely to be female when growing up. I have a few of my own seeds from an unnoticed hermi SOG branch, that fert.d a few of it's own buds, another SOG, and a couple buds of a GDP before we caught and chopped it. Some buds being fert.d, really seemed to excite and energize the other buds on all plants in room, and was some of the biggest bud we grew indoors. That was last falls, tho, maybe this spring will be testing those seeds out.

That's actually a female. You can tell in the first pic and in the second as well. I don't see the pistils, but the shape of that preflower is female.

i wouldnt make any final judgement now wait a week or two even freezer boys are alittle too early for me if you want 100% fems if sorting fems and hermi just removing males i guess you could use a mag glass. i have three seedling atm that are slow to show the rest pre flowered near 2 weeks ago there my little suspects.,

Heres my suspects 3 of the 4 that havnt made up there mind and one sat dom (sorry) didnt think to do close ups.

100% accurate. It's quite clear and no grey to it. Other pics are not of preflowers. I've been amazed for years that experienced growers haven't gotten the hang of sexing with preflowers. I've probably posted 100 times on the subject over past 5-6 years and am doubted constantly, that all strains (haven't found one yet that wouldn't), show sex before week 4 of veg. Never a reason to wait longer or go to forced flowering to tell sex. Gitmo still gotta female!!! No matter how long you wait!!!

actualy girls do not allways have hairs,
plants can really throw you some curvballs
especialy when genetics have been degraded overtime.
I had a bagseed plant throw out male at first
then the wiered ball shape in this thread
and finaly a calyx with pistil.
Some plants as well do not show of the pistils for the calyx
never move from your garden unless your 150% sure

I agree completely, Gg.
You just cannot tell sometimes, I don't care how experienced one may be at growing.
Although I respect your take on things, luvtogrow, IMO things just aren't cut-n-dried as that. We can get a fairly good grip on the horticultural end of things after some time, but there are just things that happen that can't be accounted for.

I have golfed for years, and consider myself a hack golfer. I think the same about growing, as I have done a good bit of it over they years but I still consider myself a hack grower. So, my input is not of the "experienced pro" type. But from what I have seen, plants can do all sorts of things. Some may not show sex at all until triggered.
Some will grow a bean or two...and then turn full on fem, and no more beans to be found. Until I see a full cluster, I am very hesitant to pull a seedling.
And even if one starts to hermie early in flower, seems that you can sometimes just pull the first one or two off and they stop.
You just never know.

Im searchin for a good mother so I kill any plant that even thinks about hermie-in. Even if the plant has a dream where one of its friends hermies, I kill that plant and its friend.
