now that the economy is in the tank and will get worse. the kids use to get what they want rich spoiled brats . well now i heard on the news that parents have to send their kids to therapy to exsplain that its not like it use to be ther is no mony like the old days.
give me a fn break it the parents fault for raising materialistic kids in the first place. and now their suffering because they cant get that new benz that mommy and daddy cant afford it. Evan the girls are fucked they will not look at a guy if he is not driving the right car. i just hope it get way badder then it is. i think America needed a wake up call a long time ago. well that's what i think

why do all american holidays have to include buying stuff? candy, flowers, turkeys, extruded plastic, green beer, 3-5 dollar cards, and who reminds us every time...the media sponsored by the store. blah day, buy shit ,oh now its blah day2 go buy shit. they have even concocted terms such as scrooge to guilt you into participating.

I did buy some extruded plastic for a 1 and a 2 year old that will entertain them for 10 minutes, then they will turn to a pile of other plastic items that will entertain them for another 10 minutes. no one talks about the indoctrination of materialism/consumerism to perpetuate a cycle. get em while their young, the more you buy em the better you will look in their eyes. pull that away and good luck ever hearing from em again.

Christmas brings a ton of shitty memories for me when my dad left and we had to make due and I had to take his place. When I hit my teens and 20's I began to hate christmas. Now I got my head right on shit like that and have really tried to get into it for the sake of my wife. It actually was becoming enjoyable until this year........


We have to move from our home into relatives basement 2-3 days after christmas. (If you saw my "Anybody lost it all yet" thread you know what I'm talking about.)

Fuck christmas and fuck god........ things like this do not belong on the resume of the supreme being

Yeah OK, if you're fine with brainwash. No offense Frank, but here are too many "innocent" little lies and assumptions for me. I like to give and be a role model all year around, I don't need one fabricated winters day to do this and feel good about it. Why should it be that one day (granted it's a nice reprieve) of someone else's choosing? Why involve a story like Santa?

Looking back on history and the people who wrote it, I'd say they were all nuts. Any tradition passed down to me is subject to speculation. Sorry, freedom is too important to me. Subscribing to random holidays that most have no clear understanding of is rather good training for more subscription to whatever the Man says. This is a way of passing especially closed mind-sets down, generation to generation. Christianity, religeon in general, has been wielded as weapon in the past.

I dislike Christmas by default. To me it's only what it really is, a day of astrological significance (The sun is lowest on the horizon on Dec 25 than any other day. It only climbs higher on the horizon thereafter; Your "reborn son", or should I say, "Sun"?) The people who we've let control the Christmas image are ridiculous. I pay them no credence, and neither should any FREE THINKING RATIONAL party. Decide for yourselves.

I hear Gaia, aka Mother Nature comes highly recommended! Give on Earth Day or 4/20

I ain't ever liked christmas, even as a kid I disliked it. The religious aspect is pretty hoaky too. Every x-mas I have to put up with my crazy family yammering about bullshit, these passed couple years it's been fox news talking points and how the EVIL secular leftist atheists are destroying america by removing those 10 commandments from that courthouse and saying "HAPPY HOLIDAYS!" Oh yeah, and the fwd:fwd:fwd emails that I get at least 2 dozen of.

It's all nothing but a waste of time. I don't need no bullshit commercial holiday to get me to be nice to be people, if I want to buy someone a gift I do it out of the kindness of my heart, not at some pre-arranged time of year. Christmas is just is a totally fake, insincere, commercialized crock of shit.
