another stellar grow my man. my bro and i have the clone only cut. i have yet to put her in flower, but he has her around 30 days now. i will get some pics from him, as his technique for tying down and training is superb. his ecsd looks like it will be a two to three zipper, at about 2 and a half feet tall-lots and lots of colas. question: when do you really start smelling the stank on this cut? seems the smell is not as strong at this point as either the chem d for example, or the ffa. it is def there, just not as much in your face. great job man.....sub
----WOW! my brother harvested his girl couple nweeks ago, flowered for 70-dried for ten days, in jars two or three days at this point. and WOW! did i already say that? that has GOT to be the rankest freakin herb i have EVER smelled. please forgive me for my exhuberance, but i am new to ecsd and i love the taste and smell. and its not even close to cured yet! took a couple quick pics-diff. light:

It's not one of the world's greatest, most beloved smokes for no reason. ;) She's a rare example of everything righteous about smokable cannabis. :) Glad you have experienced well-grown ECSD. :) Every pot lover should know what real Sour is like. cc

Best taste between ECSD, FFA and Chem D... That's like asking what tastes better, vanilla, chocolate, or cherry... It's all in the eye of the beholder. They're all great flavors, and I'd not do without any of them in my garden. :)

As for stinkiest... The most offensively ororiferous of them would be the Chem D... it can smell like tooth decay at times, not a flattering smell... but as with most nasty-smelling herbs... the smell translates into a great taste when burned. :)

FFA and ECSD are probably on par with eachother for stench, the sour being a little more on the skunk/lime end of the spectrum, and FFA being on the skunk/berry/kush end.

rick-that would be tough to judge! first of all, i have only grown the chem d and ffa, though i spent quite a bit of time in the room with bro's ecsd, and have it goin right now(in veg) the most offensive, as CC said is the chem d. and ever since i read his article, the description of mouth infection has never left my mind, and is exactly right. but i stick my face over a just opened jar of the ecsd and i jerk my head back cuz i cant take it. then right back to the jar, for another jerk, so to speak! lol. the ffa is a stench to me that is nothing but pleasantness. beautiful aroma that gets kinda garlicky stinky as it cures. I LOVE THEM ALL. and keep in mind, me and bro, between us, have one run of each under our belts so far, but many many more to come!

Great plant CC! Ive been enjoying your threads for a long time now. Thanks for all of them!

I never smoked ECSD clone but I did make some F2s of Rez's SD-IBL and interestingly got this pheno from the first grow of the f2 seeds. I think it resembles some of the ECSD pics Ive seen but I dont know how close the smoke was but I found it tastes just like SD-IBL.. very good taste. The high was about the same as IBL also, wish I could compare to the cut. That was one of 8 females of a 30 seed grow. The rest were all good but this was the best one. I didnt keep a copy and this is my only surviving pic but Ill try some more of the f2 seeds at some point. I love growing my own f2s.. Its just like a box of chocolates.

Four2Zero, very nice Diesel .:)

Yerba, I flush with straight water. I will sometimes use a plant carbohydrate (usually maple syrup for me) in the last week or two BEFORE the flush, but not during the flush.

"I love them both less the more I'm forced to smoke any one of them, and I love them more the longer I go without them."

CC, that almost sounds like a Bilbo Baggins quote lol

Absolutely gorgeous ECSD... as a matter of fact, I need to go change me britches about now... :D

I'm always amazed at the things that come from your stable.

Absolutely top-notch work, CC Keep it up! You do a damn fine job of inspiring for sure.

If I don't get off this thread, my laptop is going to electrocute me from the excessive drool!

All the best!

Hi Bluewonder,
i'm pretty sure CC mentioned between 1 and 2 tsp per gallon of water:yes:,
i tried it out for the 1st time as well on 1 pheno of NL#5xHaze,
although i couldn't get the maple syrup so used black treacle instead,
the other 2 plants i just used plain water so it'll be interesting to see which has the best, most clean taste:joint:

SrPlantManager, :) I know, I read it after writing it and it reminded me of when Bilbo was giving his goodbye speach to the Shire. :) hehehe

bluewonder999, Hazeseeker answered it right. :)

I could hear Bilbo's vioce when I read it CC lol

Now I have a really dopey question.... what exactly does the maple syrup do?

One last question... how long has it been since you grew out that Sharon? I remember back a few years @ OG you had her goin, I think from LS.... if my decrepid memory is right... I was Snapdragon on OG btw

Again, gorgeous garden, CC

SrPlantManager, maple syrup is a plant carbohydrate, sort of like using black strap molasses as a carb. When you buy a dozen roses at the florist, they'll give you a packet of white powder to dump in the vase with the roses. This white powder is basically carbohydrates, plant food in a ready-to-consume form. Nutrients aren't really food for the plant, nutrients are what the plant uses to MAKE carbs, which they use for energy and building cells, etc.

During the first part of the flushing period, carbs can be added in lieu of nutrients to provide energy to the plants while not getting fed nutrients. many times, a well-flushed plant will lose nutrients too fast, resulting in a slow down of the ripening process. Adding carbs during these famine times provides the energy to keep ripening, while NOT adding more nutrient. That's what I use maple syrup for. I like maple syrup because it's plentiful here, and because it's concentrated plant food in pristine form, ready to use.

Any maple syrup will do?
1 good tip i realised when using the black treacle is: get a cup of warm/slightly hot water,
take your 1 or 2 tsp of syrup then put it in that water first, stir it till it's all absorbed by the water then add it to your gallon of water,
helps the syrup dissolve (if that's the right word) and mix in with the water alot easier:joint:
