Curing pounds in plastic tubs?

How much does plastic affect the taste, smell of bud when you use it to cure rather than glass? Im trying to figure out a way to cure around 3 pounds without totally compromising the taste and smell. I mean I really dont want to have like 80 glass jars of weed cause thats just not practical. I was thinking about using rubbermaid tubs, but i was wondering if anybody has had this problem before and what they used to cure with. I dont think they make 30 gallon glass jars and if they did, they would probably be kinda expensive.

plastic won't affect the taste as long as it is clean...the problem with large rubbermaid containers is getting the air tight seal. I use contractor trash bags and seal the end with a vacuum packager (don't suck all the air out and flatten the weed, just use the crimper) This works great except you are constantly cutting the end off the bag and resealing it. You could do the whole 3lbs no problem in one bag.

Use food grade plastic containers to avoid off-gassing, or go to Walmart and in the kitchen section buy the large mouth 2 gallon clear glass "cookie jars". Anchor-Hocking is the manufacturer. I have 4 of them and you can easily store 3 pounds of bud with room to spare. They cost about $12.75 each.

what about using turkey bags? You could get 2 pounds in one bag - though I'd go with a pound a bag - and they're $2 each, smell proof and airtight. I'm about to try that method this week.

I like the big glass commercial food jars. The buds stay unmolested and the wide tops make for easy access. Also its fun to look all your buds curing.

i wanna use some plastic containers i have that i got from BJ's that had pretzels in them at one point. i am gonna get some "puffy tape" from my job and stick a 3/8ths thick edge on the inside of the lid to give it a better sealing capability, does this sound like it would make sense to do?

-i dont wanna have a whoel bunch of lil jars around
-none of the delis i have been checking have the big jars (that they keep pickles and peppers in).
- i want jars that are easy to deal with, not those heavy ass mason jars ive seen with the glass lids.
-buckets are way too obvious for who i live with

im expecting to harvest atleast 1+1/2 lbs i hope

any opinions?

go to a home supply store or even walmart and buy some big ass tupperware containers.

They make some that a pound would fit into easily.

containers are airtight so that dryish air can be trapped inside the container, allowing the moisture to "even out" over time. i suggest you research the theory behind curing as its important
