Heya !

I planted my cuttings in cups with coco but without
the rapid rooters. I hope this works. They have been
in the cups for about a week now, and I see no roots yet
:( Some leaves on the cuttings has also started
to turn yellow. Maybe i took too small cuttings.

One hps ballast ignitor is broken aswell >:| so now I
only have two bulbs working.
Hey bro,
I have never cloned in coco? The yellowing is common to overwatering, fert, ect... You can use the rooters if you have success with them, just transplant the rooters in the dixies after the rooters show roots, and let them root.
You can get an ignitor at any electrical out let store, Just take it in and say... Hey i need one of these himmamajeebes..lol
Couple pics in a minute.

Holes are for pussy's (get it?)lol
Looking real good there! I would say the yellowing and drooping is from to much water in the cup. This will delay rooting considerably! Put em under a heating pad or seedling mat to try and dry them out.
Remember... When they are fresh cuts, Just a little water at the stem to keep it moist, the outer soil should be just moist enough to send the newly formed roots searching for water. Also, try to find the same size cup that is not clear. the light will stop the roots from growing, place the clear cup in the colored cup. This is the method i do so i can pull the clear cup out and check root developement.
Peace bro! Jro

Putting clones in coco will work but no where near as fast and effective as rapid rooters and or sticking the clones in e-z cloner homemade of course. Let us know you success rate on those as im curious. Also j was on the money with putting the clear cups in colored ones.

^^J, those beds are looking sick bro i can wait to see the final product and numbers. When you put the plastic cup in the medium i take it you remove them and just place the rooted clone in and cover with medium? Hope you arent sick of me just yet asking all these questions :jump:

Damn jrosek; Those beds look like they work very well, although not to deep. Is that like 6 inches deep or so? and did you use 1 or 2 600's? light movers? Very nice job man.

jrosek

6" fellas, Thats all it takes.
The bed i showed is at 5", it does not house as many cuts as i wanted. 119 where it should have been 152 under 2 600's
We are still gonna break 6lbs with 2 600's on this run! Watch and see.................

Hello all,

Jrose, dude not to dis on your methods but would not a bubble cloner work with your bed method...no need to containinate the perlite with peat/coco or rooters?

I use a bubble cloner and have great results transplanting to a soil mix, with perlite it would be a breeze.

Still though your methods are kewl too, just a suggestion is all.

Hey bro,
I scrapped the cloner last yr. It is a timing and root size issue. this is why we use the soil. it adds strength when the plant is large also, It leans and ripps roots out in straight perlite!
There is a method to my madness bro!lol
Thanks for the the input tho.
Peace Jro

That is amazing jrosek, pushing 6lbs with 2 600's, Very nice. it would be very hard to yield similar results growing bush style under the same amount of light.
I'm planning on having many small plants packed under my 2 600's also only i will have 2 light movers moving each 600 somewhere between 2.5 - 3.5 feet.

My bud, Who is an old head (older than me anways) Used a light mover, Worked pretty well, But his foot print was to large for his light coverage.
I dont think there necessary if you stay under 8ft x 4ft with 2 600's. With the crappy hoods i have i have to make sure there is plenty of reflective material close to the sides as possible. I even threw an old 15 dollar wallmart t8 fixture where the lighting from the back of the hood was depleted.
Anyway... Good luck and thanks bro!

I would not re dip them bro.
If you must, carefully flip the cups and break up the medium around the stem.
Rinse them off and let them soak in some ph'd water, in cups.
Carefully put them in rapid rooters and see what happens. Do not put any nutes in your soak solution. Dip them in your hormones first before inserting.
Good luck homey, Remeber... Patience is the key to success!

my normal routine is to take a clone, and two months later it goes in a 5 gallon bag for flower. seems to be perfect. i've grown lots of ways, and for now i like bigger plants and less numbers. a couple of advantages is with the mix i use it means i only water about evey 7 to 10 days. so, because i have the time now, i usually do evey watering with an organic tea. another advantage is less trouble if your caught. I can keep my wife and me over supplied (and we smoke tons) buy flowering 4 plants after a two month veg, work from clones, and go perpetual. Lots of ways to grow, but so far this is easiest and less plant numbers. Now i just need to decide if i want to go back to lst next time, or just top, or grow christmas tree again. But i definitely like the water only every 10 days and less plants but bigger, so much easier than lots of containers and all that watering and larger sentences. I like to flower my plants until they are truely done, which is around 70 - 80 days for most. So i do veg the whole time i'm waiting for flowering to end. why not? bigger plants!

Ya well, to keep you updated, all of my cuttings has rooted and are
at the moment filling the cups with its white thready guts.
So in a couple of days I will probably be putting the first 35 cuttings
into flower, filling 1/3 of my bed. I have also started to take
more cuttings for the second batch.

peace

Here is the twisted Purple. Thought you might want to see here from the last full picture. She has been LST'ed do to stretch. A Few of the topps got cooked and I had to pinch them off. I have also noticed that the roots have grown through the 5g grow bag and are in the Pot Saucer I placed under it to catch the run off. These roots will die so I was going to give it a hair cut to get did of them.

Lookin good ;)

Mine were about to burst some 5gal bags too, partly what made me start this thread.
I'm about ready to document my latest 12/12, doing 2 #10sp's, 2 #7sp's & 2 wimpy rooters in 5gal bags. I really like the #7 smart pots for 100ish day grows & #10's for 120+

@jrosek
I got a new killer SOG strain & I can't SOG lol

cheers

I have plants that are about.... 60 days old and they have another 42 days left. They're in 2 gal net bottoms on a coco root mat. The roots aren't far out of the pots and they seem to have no worries/issues. The medium is coco.

Root density is what matters, no the size of the pot.
