Man I still run the same Old MSM with a dab of heavy weight and cal mag......***strain dependent***....the strains I run dont need much just basic mix...but the you got some like the chem and PI that need a lil more! When I grow bubba>> just water and so on and so on!

^^^^What's a dab of Heavy weight? blood/bone/kelp, POM 5-8-4, Gravity/Purple Max...??? Why does it need cal mag? Are you talkin' fresh or recycled MSM Mix?

Not arguing, just lookin' to learn. Obviously you feel it needs it on top of Ca/Mg in tap water and 3-4-3/5-8-4 POM Starter/Flower, and oystershell/crabshell in OF/LW.....

You did a Good Thing for me when you started this thread. Once Again, Thank You, 'mano!

I hear ya......no prob.... howzit long time no see? I just got out of a surgery and and month long hosp stay so im not getting into the ins and outs...3-3-3/5-5-5 right now. All I can say its going to depend on if its going inside/outside...summer/winter...1 month veg to flower or straight from clone and again what STRAIN your using. Yes I do belive some strains can take more mol, cal, kelp etc than the the mix. Moms in reused mix and clones into new some times. I do use distilled water so A DROP of cal mag works for me in the enviroment and feeding times I provide. Now my buddies who run the same shit its diff just because.....i guess its there style and enviroment. and most of them use ph'd and tap witch has some to do with. I exp a lot with diff gardens/friends and tweaking the basic mix gives YOU PROBLEMS so when I say I add some thing new to something take into consideration its probibaly a flushed/1month+ vegg/mom/diff strain/outdoor etc. Hope this helps
I think I needed to add heavy weight

I just added water

Day 22

Day 22

Still using tap water, run through a PUR filter. Going to start adding a tsp of blackstrap today. Later on I might supplement, with some Botainicar PBP bloom.

I am running 1600w of CMH. In that certain room, I was only having a 3-4 degree change between night and day. 69 in the day and 66 at night. I actually like having more of a temp swing between night and day. I ended up running out of room anyhow, and turned that room into a vegetation laboratory.

This is my new flowering room. I have not added my AC yet, so the first day temps got up to about 79. I have not checked to see how cool it gets at night. I am hoping for about 62-63 degrees at night. Get some nice dense nuggets.

Are you using any POM/Happy Frog dry ferts or are you getting results like that half way through flower w/just the three bag mix?

I am using the "moonshine mix", which is a bag each of OF,LW, and PM + 5-6 gallons of FF chunky p + a cup of POM all purpose + a cup of POM fruit and flower + plain water (tbs blackstrap) + 1600w of CMH + 31 days of 12/12=

Since this picture, I bubbled up a basic tea, and added that as reinforcement. I am also adding a table spoon of black strap to each gallon of purified water.

The moonshine mix needs nothing for the first 30 days, and would probably do just fine up until harvest.

Thanks for the reply. I'm guessing no dolomite is needed because Fox Farm makes their products to fall w/in certain ph range?

I have added it before, but it didn't seem to make a difference. These have no dolomite lime in them.

I agree with Burn1, dealing with PH and organics.

I would just make sure your water's PH is ok, the mix is fine with out dolomite lime.

Hope that answers your query.

Day 35 of Moonshine Mix

Day 35 of Moonshine Mix

I bubbled up a basic tea, and gave it to them last watering. That is used more as a reinforcement to the mix. Every gallon of water also gets a tbs of black strap from here till harvest.

Don't forget to add plenty of Dolomite lime to this mix. It also may need a refresher about half way through. I am using some Cal Mag Plus, Liquid Karma, Pure Blend bloom, and some black strap. I am happy with the results, but I am still looking to incorporate more of my compost.

I've got every thing I need for the mix, but I'm still not clear about the dolomite lime and won't bother mixing until I can sort it out.

Add dolomite lime in at about 2-3 cups per load of the mix (LW,OF,PM). Also, you will need to supplement with a organic nute of some kind... I use Pure Blend.

You can either add Dolomite Lime now, or Cal Mag Plus later. I am doing Cal Mag Plus, because I did not put any in, at the start. I didn't run enough dry ferts either. It depends on what you want to do. However, around day 30, full supplementation of nutes, cal, and mag are needed.

I am also running seven different strains, in the same mix. That means I am getting 7 different results. The QMD and DSD are needing more cal and mag, but my PTK is doing fine. A lot has to do with the plant you are running. If it is a heavy feeder, then I would use some dolomite at the start. I am constantly trying different things, to see what works best in this mix.

I said before it doesn't need it, however it might be easier to add it now, then try to diagnose a early deficiency.
