Help me prepare my new location - expert growers please

I'm looking for some expert indoor growers to help me get some ideas going. Now here is the info i have so far for my current new location. Im looking to do 40 - 50 plants in one shot.

* Its a pretty big walk in closet.
* 10 ft. Length x 8 ft. Wide and 10 ft. height
* 2 1000 HPS Flower lights (I know i would need more light for the amount of plants but for now this is what i have.)

Now here's what i had in mind. I was going to do 3 - 5 Gallon grow bags or square pots. I was going to build a wood frame out of 2 x 4 and line it with white tarp.This way i can water them and if there's any water it'll just stay in the tarp.

possibly drip system since there will be so many.

I would do most of these from clones so i would only have to veg a week or 2 and then switch to 12/12.

Now would you do it this way if you had the tools i just listed? or would you do it differently? Input is very welcome.

with that many plants and only two lights I would do sea of green with scrogging keep them all about a foot to foot and a half finishing height, also a light mover would help

I think your going to half to look at drainade better.Just letting it run on the tarp not a good idea.You might want to look at flood and drain or hydro.

For 50 go rockwool flood drain or even a bed of hydroton with drip setup... But considering your headroom, I would go for less plant count, and bigger plants myself.

i have a big tray and i am going to use rockwool cubes. im going to do an eb and flow instead of a drip.

Cut the plants down to 25 and just grow them bigger.

Whats your budget like? Do you have the money to spend on a major set up? Do yuo want a major set up? (LOTS OF TIME, MONEY & WORK !!!!!) More Lights, hydro supplys, Truck loads of nutes, pumps, timers, AC, Venting, Exhaust, Intakes, THE LIST IS ENDLESS.

How much do you want to harvest and how often? (as much and as often as possible I know)

I have a 9 x 7 Bloom room that could hold 400 plants in a SOG. (mother room is 9 x 6)

Here is 1 Table:This is an old photo. The room is completely different today. This table is 3 x 6 and can hold 96 plants if I wanted it to.I built the Aeroponic machines from scratch with 90% of the parts bought at HD or Lowes. I've since upgraded to Ventable hoods. I built another level over top of that table you see there and have another 3 x 6 stacked on top of this table. My celings are 11 foot so each table has 5.5 feet of vertical grow space. (its a double decker bud machine) I keep my bloomers at 24 inches tall or less. (try too) With the right strain and running a SOG set up you could pull 2.5 to 3 lbs from 1- 3 x 6 table. If that's where you wanted to go and with a little inginuity..........you could get 4 tables into your room and harvest LBS every 2 weeks on a perpetual schedule. Its all a matter of what you want to do. (run 2 tables and harvest every 30 days)

If you have some money to spend, you could get some massive yields out of your closet.

OR, you could grow 1 huge ass plant in a closet that size.
This is ONE skunk plant grown in a 3 inch net potaeroponics) Total dry weight was just over 1 pound INDOORS from a single 400 watt HPS. (buds where light and airy though) A 600 watter would have done her better. (Live and Learn)

This is what you said in your original post I dont think that with 2 lights you can even run that many 3 or 5 gallon bags ...unless you get a couple of light movers. True.... doing a sea of green or some other type of hydro setup you could easily run that amount of plants under 2 1000k. But with what you have (trays and such) I would load the bags and see what fits in the trays. If you want to run 3gallon bags fill those homos up and see what works with your space.

Obviousley larger root growth and size = bigger plants with larger yield.
But dont waste your space, why use that many 3ga bags if your not going to utilize the potential of the extra root space/grow area. (3 or 5 gallon bags are pretty substantial x 50)

You asked about doing bags or pots and everyone started talking about hydro.....thats not what you said you wanted to do..........

I was thinking this exactly....go 5gal DWC buckets FTW...less plants, bigger plants...IMO

I say you build a walk in STADIUM with your lights hanging vertically. Sounds like you are handy with tools, and you could build shelf tiers couldnt you? 2 weeks might even be too much veg time for this setup, as they need to be short.
