Regular Sensistar vs. Femm'd Sensistar

Hello, I am wondering if the fem'd version of Sensistar will show the same hibrid vigor of the regular Sensistar. I know that a true F1shows hybrid vigor, i'm wondering how the femmed Sensistar (or any Fem'd version of a released strain) Is it an S1 where you get afemale plant to make male flowers and pollinate itself. I have heard that s1's do not have the same vigor as an f1. You could also take two female plants of the same starin and use one to pollinate the other. I would think that this would also give inferior results to an f1.

The use of female seeds is obvious, if you are just starting up you don't have to waste time/space growing males. I'm wondering if the females produces from Fem'd seeds have the same good qualities as an f1 plant ? i realize that this is a general question and somewhat subjective.

Thanks again and in advance for youir help, I really apprecaite people that take the time to answer questions. CH

I think the guys at Paradise should have a pretty good grip on the fem Sensi Stars by
now. They'e been out now for at least 3 years, I think. I've done 2 fem Sensi Star grows
('06 & '07) and both were really nice. Probably the best fem seeds I have grown.

the Fem Destroyers are just beautiful I have 2 and there both fantastic. I would grow these again. I have regular SS seeds so I cant comment on those. I do have 1 SS in veg it is growing like normal not explosive

It is still possible to inject hybrid vigor into feminized lines!!!

for example:

a grower could take a Skunk #1 female clone,, and an Afghan #1 female clone,,

then subject the Afghan #1 clone to chemical application to inhibit female expression,,

use the male flowers produced to inseminate the Skunk #1 clone,

result,, feminized Skunk #1 x Afghan #1 - F1 Hybrid.

feminised seed lines can then still be produced while "breeding" two separate varieties together.

Hope this helps :canabis:

I wouldn't call sensi star vigorous at all,i've grown and have kept the best fem and males from 20 odd plants and non have the vigour of something like say chronic, which leads me to believe that sensi star is somewhat inbred as there's not to much variation in the line from what i've found.

i completely disagree out of 2 diff fem packs of the SS i found the pheno variation terrible,i mean i got like 5 diff phenos but all were still potent as hell but i wouldent say is completely stable..peace.

I am growing the Paradise female "Magic Bud"
They are very close to harvest, and guess what! One of them sprang some nanners and pollinated the whole group. Buy the regular seeds, they will save you a big headache.

so far all my 3 harvests were all from fem seeds. 2 paradise ice cream and 1 paradise nebula. i have fem sensi veggin now. i see no evidence of fem seeds not having vigor. i also have some GHS cheese fem in flower now. 2 out of the 4 are kinda weak looking in terms of projected yield but other 2 look great, in fact the 1 is the biggest and healthiest plant i've grown. we'll see how she turns out. i will b trying reg seeds in another month (mazar i sharif and bubba bx1). i think as long as u use a reputbable seed co u will b fine with fem. they're great for those with space limitations.

Hi, thanks for all the responses. This comment is for DocLeaf. I though the same way you did buyt lets say you have a name brand hybrid plant that everyone knows. It wqs madre with a male of one type and a female of another type. Now you come out with a Femmed version of the same plant. It is not possible to make this by taking the same male and female you must somehow use two females or self the plant. you won't get the same original cross that the f1 hybrid was made from. You can take one of the f1 female plants and self it or take two similar f1 femalkes of the same line and cross these. My point is that if you have a Hybrid it is very hard to reproduce Femmed. i might have choosen a bad example when i used Sensistar as it appears to be more inbred raher than a hybrid.

I agree with marajanamat. She aint that vigorous.
I agree with cktRAVE. "if it werent for the potency.....
The supply of SS seeds that have been available for the past 12 monts or so, have a great deal more variation than the SS seeds ive purchased in the past. Ive found up to 5 pheno's in these most recent 10 packs of regular seeds. Im used to seeing 2 primary pheno's and 2 more less frequent extremes of the 2 primary pheno's. The potency and high is unchanged, but Ive grown a bunch of SS and these last few packs have been loaded with pheno's including one fuel oil smelling girl that I have never seen before and don't really appreciate.

I do appreciate these

From an existing hybrid seedline yes.,, it's near impossible
