Cab height?

I found a cab that is 60"L x 18"W x 30"H. Is 30" too short to run a 150w hps in a micro SOG? Let me know all you low ceiling guys please.

You will be fine with 30'' height. A screen of green is a highly recommended technique that you should use.

The trick is just figuring out how much they stretch during the flower cycle and you just have to learn by trial and error!

I was hoping to be able to do a drbud style SOG. I think with a strong indica I could keep the flowering clones to <20" which would give me 10" for the light and pots. This could be a tight squeeze...

Yes I was thinking about that as well, however the floor space would only be 30 x 18 AND it would kill the stealth factor. I don't think anyone is gonna believe I keep my clothes in a dresser with the drawers like that lol.

Not saying water culture is the way you should go, just that 30 inches is very doable.

I agree with freezer boy. Hydro will work with a scrog at that height but a sog using dwc/swc will make them shoot way up and be harder to handle.

Argh. This makes me sad.

I know im being stubborn but even a strain like northern lights would be too high? I might wait for another cab because I was really stuck on that idea.

Well, bigger is better but, I think you can do it. You'll have to sacrifice yield to some extent by limiting root growth (say 4 inches of soil) 12/12 from start and strain with short flowering time.

Do you actually have the HPS yet? An MH would keep things more compact.

Yes I have the econolight $20 HPS, two. I can play with soil height and hopefully get somethign that works. I just hope I can find a pheno with limited stretch.

30" is totally doable.

There are plenty of micros around here with less headroom.

You're going to have to train, regardless of strain, if you want to maximize the grow. Check out the overview to training guide in my signature. You should find something you like in there.

Every strain is trainable to some degree. Stay Indica-dom if you can and don't let 'em veg very long.
