BAD NEWS....

BAD NEWS....

so I had an accident. nothing super major. but bummer nonetheless.
I had just realized that my CAP AIR 4 Atmospher/CO2 controller only controls the environmental components - when the ideal environment is detected the controller sends the CO2 outlet power to operate the regulator... it doesn't really control how or how much co2 is dispersed from the tank. NOT A BIG DEAL but I need to get another part to control the amount of CO2.

So anyways I finish up my CO2 loops that I am gonna hang over the tables and decide to put my regulator on my tank.... so I take the regulator in one hand, tank in the other, and make the 12 ft trek to the kitchen area (across from flower room) when my grip on the regulator somehow is lost and it drops to the hard hard hard floor. It hit hard and at an angle... one of the gauge covers broke off. I was hoping nothing was wrong and hooked it up to the tank, but when I opened the tank I could tell instantly the regulator was leaking from multiple places. DAMNIT. :badday: So it looks like I not only need to buy a CO2 timer like the CAP ART2 but I have to also buy a new regulator....kindof a bummer. But what can you do... should have taken my time rather than try to rush.

edit^^^realized above was chopped up and made no sense. corrected 11/27

NEHoo..

tobaaaac & badugi I think once I get the CO2 system working for me I'll see 25-30% increase in weight + faster finish times. A few folks have told me that it'll be a 50% increase but I think thats way way way to big. I am trying to be real world/realistic. My room is not totally sealed, but it will work I am sure... I've got the atmospheric controller, the co2 tank full of fresh co2.... got the tubing done just need to hang it over the tables.

tngreen WOW that is awesome dude! Thanks for the nomination and kind words.

Yo howzit hazy? Just trying to dial it in. I started working on 1 and all of a sudden I have so many different ones and they are all killer. shit whats a grwoer to do???

I got the CAP REG-1 after hearing of a few problems here and there with Hydrofarm models. Also got a Sentinel CHHC-1 environmental controller... cost me less than what most places wanted to charge me for the CPPM-1.

I think Sentinel has stronger products at a better value than CAP.

If I were going to do CO2, I think I'd go with the Sentinel CPPM-1. Maybe after I see your results, I'll consider implementing it.

Time fore some pics...
here's the latest group of girls after they entered the flower room.
20 girls in 8" pots, 16-18" tall.

and 5 days later

Its the NEXT batch remember that will be 36 6" pots... (I think that batch may be all Banana OG Kush)...

Here's the latest news from the flower room

yellow hps pics we all love to see

MTF day 54

BUBBA day 54

GDP day 54

GDP a little earlier in the week

MTF a little earlier in the week

BUBBAa little earlier in the week

I am pretty stoked on the Bubba Kush. No doubt about it. I got a great cut and seem to be doing her the way she likes.

I still love me some MTF don't get me wrong, but she has moved onto a lesser role in my garden at this point in time. I did not ever think this day would come. :nono: She's a nice yeilder and strong smoke, but she doesn't wow me like the BK, or the Grape Romulan, or the SDxSB. What I mean is she doesn't pay my bills like the other ones do.
PAYING THE BILLS IS IMPORTANT. :bashhead:

I am waiting for my B-Real to root... I cannot wait to give that plant a test drive. She is supposed to be very finicky. We'll see. She's different than the other OG's - she's got very tight internodes and a bushy profile. Nice and GREEN new growth.

BTW my regulator is a CAP one..... it had to have dropped hard to fuck that thing up!

Man.... I feel you on growing a strain that will pay the bills. The purp craze is in full effect, and motherfuckers don't know what they're talking about with it. All they know is they bought a $30 half gram in the ghetto. I'm going to drop a couple of $500 oz's of Querkle to a guy as a tester, I think.

No one here get's excited about good sativa unless they know what's up. Everyone just wants fruity-purple-looks-and-tastes-like-it-was-shipped-from-California-bud. One of my boys has people calling K1 beasters until they hit that shit.

OG with tight node spacing? You're a lucky man.

I like the look of the smaller untopped ladies. I've not yet had occasion to run a set up like that. Thanks for sharing what you've got going on!

Might be time to let some else work the MTF for awhile :muahaha:
I'm willing to uhhhh, babysit..er yeah thats the ticket!
what?
THOSE JUST FELL OFF. :nono:

seriously though, bummer on the bumbler. If you got time:
CO2 Question about "how or how much" CO2 is dispensed. Are you saying its all on or all off based on measured levels? Sorry not familiar w/ that system. For planted tanks we use bubble counters that is kinda like a flow meter and make needle valve adjustments to control how much. I am curios about the "how" re: a terrestrial setup. Is it Leaves or roots that are primarily responsible for CO2 intake?

peace

wazzup tobaaaac. I think that B-Real is gonna get some play time next crop (after the 36 x 1g going in in 2weeks). I am still debating on running a whole row of her, or just a single girl... the clone I am rooting now is slated to be a soil mom. but I got 4 nice big leads I could take still....

Aloha DEDHEDFRED. You are one of the few dudes that talks the talk and walks the walk. you got wisdom, bro. your words mean a lot to me man.

yeah I feel like a retard, man. I still haven't had a chance to take it in to have it checked out. Maybe I did something wrong. i am not the handiest with pliers :bashhead:

The Atmosphere Controller basically sends power to the outlet designated for CO2 when the environmental conditions detected are within the adjusted settings. In my case the "on" signal went straight to the tank regulator valve which only controlled the rate at which the gas was released. On the unit there's adjustable settings for rH & temperature. If the temp setting was 86f, then (for me) at 87f the AC & exhaust fans will be activated; at rH 50 the dehumidifier comes on. if BOTH rH & temp are within your set range then the controller says "hey things are perfect for CO2" and sends a signal to run the CO2 system. Does that help or am I to damn high to make sense? Oh damn...
sorry to have just rambled but "Are you saying its all on or all off based on measured levels?" YES.

Thats why I need to just get a simple timer that will be on for like 30 secs and off for 5 minutes... CAP makes them, fo course a few other complanies do, too. Then I think I will be cool and the gang. Maybe when I get a few harvests in with the CO2 I'll fork out some dough for a killer all in one (been thinking about tearing down and restarting anyways...)

Might be time to let some else work the MTF for awhile :muahaha:
You`re spoiled my buddy........

You know I smoked a gram of some MTF I harvested a few crops ago tonight, and I was surprised I forgot how good it is! I am really spoiled with the genes I have growing. I am soooooo positive that my MTF would be main event in someone elses garden. Shes got the best creep. and she lingers soooo long. mmm. its nice to be spoiled. :joint:

I am only running 3 MTFs this crop, but I am pretty stoked on how they;re turning out. I must concede though that even though they are gonna make it to day 58 (which is the longest I have ever gone, by 1 day! usually chop crops @ 54-56 if you're curious) the MTF needs to go at least another 3/4 days to really be primo ripe. I have to get her out of there though (and the rest of that crop) to use my nuke - the suplur burner. I contracted PM (the fucking herpes of cannabis goddamnit) and my whole fucking op is needing a few rounds with the burninator.

*** IF ANYONE HAS EXPERIENCE WITH SULPLUR BURNERS PLEASE DO NOT BE AFRAID TO TELL ME HOW YOU'VE USED THEM SUCCESSFULLY IN YOUR OPS. I AM JUST A LITTLE SCARED 'CAUSE I HAVEN'T USED IT BEFORE SO I NEED SOME HAND HOLDING. SORRY. THANKS ***

So since the public service announcement is complete, how about some pics, eh?

MTF day 57

***************

If you didn't read it, the plant that I have been identifying as 'GDP' may well in fact be the Garberville Purple Kush. The source I got her from is not the most reliable & professional when it comes to genetics... WHAT DO YOU THINK? Like the MTF I thikn a few more days wouldn't be a bad idea. I wasn't able to get any great shots of her before the camera battery died but I wil be sure to take some tomorrow.... here's a few shots from the last crop I ran her.
*hey stoked the gallery pics are roughly the same age (week 8) as my current crop*

?Garberville Purple Kush? day 52, 52,& 57

***************

I love my Bubba Kush. I think its just so easy to look up and see her staring back at me. Longing for my caress. "Just put the MTF aside and spend time with me". Its hard not to. Becasue, well, fuck, she's goddamn electric brother! And purple, too! I am really proud of the way I am growing her out. I know I am doing her right.

BUBBA KUSH day 57

Hey Grey I figured I would drop by your thread and harrass you here. That Bubba looks amazing, like you said electric! Was wondering I recently bought Sour Bubble and have heard some rumblings that Sour Bubble & Bubba could be related or possibly one and the same. Got any ideas. BTW Matanuska has been a family favorite for some time.

The moderators / administrators censor my account, it's not a choice I make. The account names exist, it's just been locked & placed into coventry. (Except for clowntown, where I deleted my own posts.)

It has a lot to do with NurseFraudBlueshirts and his begging moderators to have me silenced so he doesn't look like nearly as large a fool. That moron does petty things like edit his guest book posts.

hey man! hope I wasn't being the ass over in your thread homey.

About the Bubba & Sour Bubba... I think they are related in some way, but its a highly debated topic. grapepunched is highly knowledgable IMO when it comes to BOG plants. There's some good info/debate here: http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?p=1915104&highlight=ogbubblegum#post1915104 and here: http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=95873&highlight=BOG

Then there's this thread: http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=60256 which kind of throws everything out the window.

wick650 is pretty knowledgeable about genetics, too. From that thread... taking back in what was thrown thru the window

So he's saying that the original Sensi Seed White Label bubblegum seeds contained bubba kush? Yeah right. He purchased his original seeds back in like 1995 or some shit. Theres no way that Bubba was around in Holland at that time... its impossible. I doubt that sensi seeds has access to bubba kush cuts even now, in 2007.

BOG must be referring to something along the lines of a Hindu Kush, not the L.A "kushes". I'll say this once again, the LA Kushes are not genetically related to the Holland kush strains in any way.

Not to confuse things further, but it is true that Sour Bubble grows similar to bubba and the buds do look a whole lot similar as well. But its impossible that bubba is genetically related to SB

So to sum it all up its a clusterfuck, FUBAR if you will, and we will really never know for sure.

Hey badugi I've done some altering... sorry homey. stay tight

Greyskull--nice grow and entertaining read!!

If you don't mind, I have a coupla questions around perpetual room maintenance, main issue being cleanliness. Do you ever get a chance to do a thorough cleaning, or do you work in stuff like that on a can-do basis? I've been flipping tables on a similar schedule the past few months and am concerned about cleanliness. Like, I'll clean and sterilize each table after it's empty, vacuum periodically, and always mop up little floor spills, but I never really get the chance to bleach the room out top to bottom. Seems to be working out OK so far, but I really am paranoid about the this.

Also, you've mentioned emptying three 40-gallon reservoirs on a regular basis. How do you do it? Is there a drain in your room? I have to manually tote the water out of my room, and, well--it's good but unwanted exercise!

I had a terrible bout with PM last year. I failed to deal with it the instant I saw it ("I'll get to it tomorrow" is a bad idea in this game) and the shit quickly decimated my crop. Turned out I was actively sucking the spores in through my air-cooled lights. Seriously, there were DRIFTS of the stuff in the air ducts. I used a sulfur burner, but it couldn't conquer the millions of spores in the environment. (I've also read those are best used as preventative measures.) It's not a problem now--I bleached the bejesus out of the room and closed up the holes I'd been sucking the PM in through. I keep a dehumidifier running 24/7 and haven't seen any of the dreaded white stuff since.....herpes of marijuana indeed. Shit was a very expensive nightmare, but it can be conquered.
