I live in Calif, havent lived on the coast ever, but go there alot and its very foggy there, you would have to not care about seeing the sun alot unless you are further inland, Oregon is a great state, very clean and pretty, there mj laws are pretty close to calif...you can go to Norml and look up each states mj laws.

The job situation is bad all over....good luck with whatever you do :)

doesn't northern cali have a 100 sq ft canopy law these days?

each county is different, which sucks, should be the same across the state but its not.

Thank you very much for the friendly responses! Split the difference and go to southern oregon?--like Medford? I don't know, I like university towns they seem to have a certain energy if you know what i mean. stuff to do too.
I am not a huge sports fan tho. I must say that womens foursome sand vollyball was greatly underappreciated by me until recently. That is a very good sport.
Had some friends move to Silver city NM so I was considering that location too.

It gives me hope to have choices, but it is like part of the carrot that is just one step away.

Sorry for the rambling...just had to put it down. :)

thanks jj

To my understanding, Oregon lets you register as a grower...which, IMO...takes most of the risk out-- Oregon is kinda cold and rainy tho...that is why I reside in the IE in So Cali-- Altho, my last sativa this year...I just chopped today, and it has been cold enough at night, to help out the purple-- :muahaha:

Job market sucks all over. Both states offer incredible mmj freedom but it varies from county to county. I personally think you could find what you are looking for in either. I think it would be easier though to move closer to friends and fam. Good luck and welcome to the best coast. I left the draconian deep south 20 years ago and never looked back!

rainman--you are not kidding about the draconian south--does not even need to be that deep--it is still draconian! I feel the need to have a subculture that is at least tolerated--it would be really different from what i have ever experienced. heres to hoping that Obama will call off the DEA dogs, let people be--how hard is that?

So each county is different in how they administer the law? Is there a good way to tell which are the better ones? It seems trickier than at first glance as I was thinking just going to Ca or Or would have been good enough! But i quess orange county, CA would be very different from Humbolt county, CA.

Interesting

I always read these posts and laugh my ass off. Go ahead come on over to the west coast. Perhaps you should check out norml's long list for each of these states legislation failings and prosecutions. There is another thread about a co-op owner going down for 20+ years. It doesnt matter in the US, just stay where you are. Also, orange county? Are you fucking kidding me, the orange curtain? Location is a state of mind, if you don't believe me find the posts talking about the Dutch closing a fifth of the cannabis shops. Weed is here to stay, so are the old policies too.

If you're a legitimate med grower in Oregon and stay within the guidelines, you won't have any problems. No sales are allowed, 6 mature plants out of 18 plant total, 1.5 pounds of dried bud in possession at any one time. Stay within those rules and I'm not aware of anyone having problems. Exceed the plant counts, get into it for commercial purposes, that's another story.

I live in the boonies in rural Oregon, very conservative area, but the cop's attitude is that med MJ is the law and so long as you follow the law they have no problem.
