Oh course its going to be Legal & soon the World will see that medicinal plants have healing powers and the damage from the alcohol industry is obvious yet ignored by politicians for short term taxation. End of November a Large leap forward in Legalised Medicinal herbs for the people.
Have faith my friends switzerland knows its the right thing to do. My Shatzi.

If it does become legalized, perhaps Switzerland could become a safe haven for people convicted and facing unreasonably long prison sentences in the U.S. Wouldn't it be possible for people to go to a friendly country and seek political asylum? How would that be different from someone in an (another) repressive regime coming to the U.S.? After all, people in prison in the U.S. for non-violent drug offenses are nothing more than victims of a repressive regime. No different than people in China going to prison for criticizing their government.

Sorry

Sorry

I don´t want to ruin the party.

But I´m 100% sure they will not legalize.

There is a chance that they might decriminalize Cannabis in one way or another, especially when it comes to small scale grows etc.

We will all see what´s gonna happen...

I´m allready a bit excited.

I lived there for 2 years...in Luzern
At first, THC was decrimalized.
Little pot and hash stands were everywhere.
Then, a baby caught aids from a needle in a park. They shut everything down. Now this...
Seems as if the Swiss are very confused...very strange peoples...couldn't wait to leave

good day mriko :)

we share some of the same concerns regarding cannabis legalization; one of the ways in which a safer legislation for cannabis can come about is by designing a legislation for it that prevents the en-mass commercialization of the plant, moreover, it should also prevent the marketing of it.

the idea would be that cultivation, posession and consumption of the plant be legal, however, there must be law conditions that prevent the plant be introduced into main-stream culture.

afterall, we want it legal so the that this nazi-like persecution of ganja-users ends, we do not want it legal so a bunch of idiots start to smoke and grow just because it is "cool" and things like that.

because as it is, we still need to separate the true ganja culture from the mtv american stoner stereotype the media has created.

thats pure lamesauce, its already mainstream, why do you care if what other idiots do if it doesnt directly effect you? why does there need to be any law on a plant?

oh yea, most of the problem when people are trying to fight for rights its from within the movement, people always sell out because they think ooo its going be worse if dont compromise a little bit and the reason theres any laws is because of people compromising out of fear or monetary gain from continuing the "fight" like from people donating to organizations that dont support 100% affirmation with no compromise and history to back that up.

it is not already main-stream, perhaps in some circles of people it may be, but that is it.

the reality is that people outside of those circles still view cannabis as if it were a hardcore drug made by the devil himself in an underground laboratory somewhere in Colombia :biglaugh:

so when these people see some punk get high on a movie and act like a fool, they will only re-inforce their old prejudices regarding cannabis, and thus never act to defend the rights of another fellow human being because they consider them to be hooked on an evil subtance.

so that is how idiots creating and emulating like monkeys the mtv-like cannabis "culture" affects me personally.

cannabis is a plant that deserves more respect than you realize.

I am curious why a vote on a Sunday?
Is this common for EU countries parliaments?
Do they figure the stoners of the legislature stay in bed on Sunday?

Swiss Youth Committee against the legalization of cannabis

A cross partisan committee "Yes to the youth - No to the cannabis initiative" consisting of young politicians of the liberal party, the conservatives and the two Christian parties EVP and EDU presented their case against legalizing the consumption and production of
cannabis.

The committee stands up for young people who assume responsibility, who mature to adults of integrity and thereby contribute to a healthy society. "Stoned youths however, lose out on their life" states the committee. "They endanger themselves, their future, their relatives and become a burden for the whole society. That's not OK!"

Samuel Kullmann (EDU) appealed against adjusting laws and values to the ever-changing mood of society. "To give up on our dream of a drug-free society would be a betrayal of the youth." Andrea Geissbühler (MP, Conservatives) warned about the fatal consequences of drugs and commendatory mentioned the decision of the national youth parliament against the cannabis initiative. Christian Wasserfallen (MP, Liberals) tore up the arguments put forth by the cannabis advocates:
"We must not be indifferent to anybody's misery out of a so-called 'generous' conception of tolerance." Lilian Studer (chairwoman Young EVP) concluded the reasoning in giving perspectives on what to do in case the initiative hopefully falls short of a majority: "We need better educational advertising! Quick and uncomplicated fines are more efficient than tedious criminal proceedings."

Recent polls have shown a 45% to 42% lead for the initiative's supporters. However there's a month of campaigning left and the committee is confident to win the popular vote on November 30th.
