The Search for '89 Skunk#1 (SSSC) style

This is kinda like looking for my old girlfriend that I dropped years ago. But now, I realize what I had and if I could just find her again.... well, you know the rest.
I know its in a very few lucky individuals grow rooms, but since I'm not a major breeder it's not in mine. If you all could rack your brains and try and come up with a way to get my hands on this, I'ld really appreciate it. I do realize that most folks out there probably never tried Sk#1 from back then, but surely some of you have and if you have any idea at all please do chime in. I went indoors just before they went down and was not able to reorder before they went out of biz. I'm hoping someone will tell me that seedsman's Original SK#1 is it. I am open to "all" suggestions. What Sam has now and has always had is what u seek,but unless you can get it from Cultivator's Choice(Sams seeds) then apparently seedsmans skunk1(bargain and quite Sat) came from Sam originally as did Flying Dutchmans version which is 'the pure' I believe. He doesn't vouch they are the same now tho' as its out of his hands. Hope that helps.... JBo

well, it 's the same color. We're talkin' 18,19yrs ago. It had a sativa structure and as many as 9 fingers on the huge leaves. Ended up around 5' tall. Aint go no pics. lost 'em. I remember it dried light green with beautiful orange pistils. I would know the taste in a second.

You might want to look into the exodus sk#1 88 clone only,but if you can't source that then i'd go with seedmans sk#1 as there old FDM stock and have proberly been worked less then any other sk#1 line so should still be mostly sativa or FDM's the pure.

MMat, I'ld love to look into a cut of the 80's stuff but so far no luck. I'm up in the mountains and the closest shop is like 4 hrs from here and I have never run into anything special like her at any of those shops. It would have to be a private matter.

Hey Beak, now that's what I'm talkin about. My main cola sure looked like yours. And the dried bud looks real familiar. Once you've had it though there's no mistaking it, right from the first hit. We used to be able to take a couple hits even at midnight and this stuff would pop your eyes open and make you wanta do something out in the garden, even though it was dark. Kinda like doin' a match head of "go fast". My eyes would get all red and skinnied down but I'ld be rarin' to go and be productive.

I may have touched on some '85 Sk#1 but I'll have to wait and see. I would imagine that it is so stable that even an F3 or F4 wouldn't lose much if any in quality, vigor or potency. Sorta like C99. I guess I'll have to keep my fingers crossed. Naturally I've done lots and lots of searching. Hoping one of our brothers or sisters will come thru with the real deal info. I am open to all pm's and suggestions.

Hey Beak, I just read your entire thread on the Pure. Wow is all I got to say. I've been remembering today how all I had to do was glance at the plants or buds and I instantly knew which were the Sk#1 cuz of the curly orange hairs. Then I saw all your pics and especially the all white cola and the same cola ripe as can be just before you harvested it and boy did it take me back 19yrs ago. Fantastico!! Yall oughta check it out. T I'm hoping someone will tell me that seedsman's Original SK#1 is it.

I was hoping too, so I bought a pack a few months ago. 0/10 germination in a 30 seed plate-10/10 with Sensi's Shiva Skunk and 5/5 + 5/5 with tiny "G13 Labs" Ice + Power Skunk freebies that I thought wouldn't sprout at all. I don't blame anyone, could be vendor storage issues...but I'm not buying any more so I'd like to see someone else try it - I haven't seen any report of anyone trying them here. People keep asking about them and get no response.

Joe, according to"The Beak", TFDutchman is the real deal. Check out TFD forum and the SK#1 thread. Very impressive strain and growing skills and just by the looks of Beak's grow and all the others that responded with like results, I'm thinkin its the closest you'll get to the one I'm after. It's called "The Pure". So if ya kant find the heirloom go with TFD. Great job Beak!

My first grow was SSSC sk1. I ordered SK1 x Basic 5 (as sk1 x nl5 was called waaaaaay back when....arrived about 3 months later no extra charge....but that's a different story.....) and even grown with only Dyna Gro and Dyna Bloom under a 175 watt hps lamp, it was about the best I had ever smoked even after attending 25 plus Dead shows. It looked just like it did in the catalouge..........WHITE!!!!!!!!
I just ordered a batch of seedsman's female original sk 1, received them quickly from Attitude seeds, and am hoping to find the real deal in there.
The real Sk1, if the killer pheno grown right, will put the most seasoned smoker out to pasture.......if you find it let me know amigo & vise versa
