5 from a 4x8 table SOG style?

Think its reasonable to get 5 lbs from a 8x4 table using SOG? I know some growers here may be getting more than that.

I am trying to figure out the best lighting design for a 4x8 table. Currently I am thinking 3 1000's but am also considering 600's. Stoney I believe used 2 600's on a mover and I believe someone else uses 4 600's.

The think about 600's is how well do they cover the 4 foot width? Using 4 600's means the hood has to cover a 4x2 area.

I also am considering putting the tables on wheels, and pushing them together for one large grow area and maximum use of lights. The only time they would be pulled apart is for lollipopping and harvest.

3 1000's seems like a bit much light for that table, guess it all depends on your hoods. There was a grower who was very succesful with a 10x5 soil bed with 2 1000's over it with Pl hoods. I just tore my soil bed down, I had a 3x5 bed with 2 600's over it and I always wished I would have made it a bit wider.
I think the 600's would do a 4x2 area fine. I would recomend you do put the bed on wheels just so you can move it around to get to some of the plants.
Have fun with your beds, one of my favorite ways to grow.

3 1000's seemed like alot. Thats what I am using now but over a 4x11 table.

I am running 68 Wpsf now. running three 600's would give me 56 wpsf. Maybe with a light mover, and better hoods, I would be just as effective?

Yes CO2. All lights air cooled

The design is 6 tables per room

I have a pheno of LUI that consistently yields 2#'s per digital 600. In a 3.5' x 10' area illumianted w/ (3) Lumatek 600's and 30 plants I hit that mark or right under each time. I think you can easily hit your mark w/ quality genetics, co2 and good nutes. What strain are you running?

>yamaha-1fan -- You say that some growers here may be getting more than 5 from a 4x8 space. They talk about the last room on See More Buds 3 getting 6 from a space just slightly larger. With 2.4k, the goal of 5 lbs right on the gram per watt give or take just over a qp. That sounds like a pretty reasonable goal. Can you or someone here point me in the direction of a thread around here where someone consistently gets or breaks the gram per watt in a space this size? I'm running 2k in a 4x9. Pardon me if you are getting that, and I missed it in your thread. I'm not on the g/w just yet. Thanks in advance for sharing.

ill go w/ the latter til i see pix, thanx

dr bud gets 2g per watt using cfls remember!
He might be in the running that trophy, too!

HEY YAMAHA - I like the 3 1ks idea man, but theoretically, 3x600s aircooled and on a mover will be able to get closer to the canopy so you'll have bookuu power right on the plants. Of course with 3x1k you'd have even more but since you're not growing tall plants ( imo 32"+) I think the 600s will do the trick to your satisfaction.

I dont want to say his name because he tends to keep his own details to a minimum but he seems to be a very knowledgeable grower that posts here. He claims to get an oz per plant in a SOG. Doing the math, he gets 8 pounds per table with 4 600's

If a 600 will do the 4 foot width, why not just use 2 600's on a mover over the 4x8 table?

My strains would be Blueberry which I have been growing for a while. Then I have Powerplant, AK47 and C99 in the works. Then there are some other strains I am supposed to be getting but I have no idea what it is.

But if we get real close to the canopy, how does that affect the spread of the light across 4 feet? I feel like with my current lights I could get them closer but I move them up so I get good light spread. This could be a reflector issue

Sorry not trying to be anal but it is a rather large plan and I am trying to maximize efficiency and production.

anal is good man. I am glad you are anal about it.
Total reflector issue. What kind of reflectors are you rockin now?

I have Cool Sun XL's. I love them. I can hold my hand on the glass under them. With the hot spot diffuser that I have on one, plants don't really heat stress even touching the hood. They cover my 4' width quite well.

I have just recently upgraded to the cool sun 6" and I am pretty stoked with the extra width of usuable light

Pics of 2# lui I will put on another thread...lets not jack Yamaha's thread. I have been playing w/ the new Adjust a wings from sun light supply and they kick ass. I usually use a 600 per square meter (3.5' x 3.5') w/ adjust a wing you can go 4'x5'. The next space that opens I will try replacing a run of (3) 600's w/ (2) 600 adjust a wings on a 9' track. That way I will be covering 30 plants w/ 1200 watts as opposed to my usual 1800. I think yields will be pretty close. I will shit my pants if I get 6#'s with just (2) 600's on a mover. That would be a thought for your 4x8 trays.

I would like to see what (2) 600's and these would produce an in your 8x4

I don't think Yamaha would mind seeing pics of 2.5 pounds from a 600...
How about a link to the thread?
