Thanks mate - nice to know someone's enjoying it!

I wish this plant was bigger though, as I've just tried a sample bud I chopped off a day or two before harvest - fantastic. Dry mouth, expanding feeling behind the forehead, and smoothly 'up'. It's almost a perfect copy of the original skinny purple Flo I've been keeping going all this time, but with extra beefiness and vigour in growth, with none of the leaf-spotting/death traits either - I may finally have to retire the original soon.

Really impressive growing EM, they all look fantastic,
especially like the look and sound of your MoFlo1A Pheno RH ^^,
the taste as well sounds awesome - Earthy, Minty, Creamy,
with it being practically ready to chop at 46 days as well it sounds like a winner through and through man

peace :joint:

Thanks folks - it's certainly tasty, and hasn't lost any of the Flo high, but definitely gained in bulk and flower-time compared to the old purple. I think it'll also perform outdoors better. Sadly it was very small when it went into flower, but I'm going to veg the clone out significantly before the next run.

Watch this space tomorrow, as there's at least one, possibly two more MoFlos coming down...:)

Looks lovely. I have the original purple Flo going now and she sure is a small girl, the buds look superb and she is purpling up nicely now. I've done her in coco and not had any nute problems at all, just found she has a very small yield.

43. MoFlo 1A, pheno #1 - 49 days.

43. MoFlo 1A, pheno #1 - 49 days.

Here's pheno 1A of the new MoFlos, which I decided last week not to keep a clone of. Not that it's not pretty, and has nice buds, but it's so damn spindly it's just not practical or high-yielding enough to grow indoors. And I have more seeds of this batch than any other, so not hard to try some more. I may regret that decision though when I smoke it, but tough...;)

That said, it was done in seven weeks, bang on schedule, and looks to be quite a sativa-leaning one despite that. Smell is mild, compared to the others, and whilst sharing the earthy background they all possess, it's more of a 'biscuity' version - slightly ginger/floral/nutty, and with that Nepalese hash smell in the background - but very mild, nonetheless.

44. MoFlo 1B, pheno #2 - 49 days.

44. MoFlo 1B, pheno #2 - 49 days.

Now this is more like it. This is an almost perfect reproduction of the original #1 (black plant at the top of the page) - except for slight color variation, this is it. There's a tad less berry, and more of the earthy liquorice, but it's pretty much a straight copy of it's grandmother, except this time I have a viable clone. It's similar to Cocoa Kush in that it's much more stocky than a usual Flo, with larger features overall.

Main traits are oversized, striped calyxes, slightly irregular bud formation, with calyx 'eruptions', rather than a neat 'cone' profile like the last one, and prodigious resin production - very heavy for a Flo line. I suspect this is because the 2nd-gen MoFlo male I used was very heavily resinous itself - all the offspring so far have shown themseleves to be more resinous than the original seed-packet generation, and that's a good thing...

Initial test smoke suggests rocket-powered potency too...:)

45. Goldfinger 1A, breeding pheno - 84 days.

45. Goldfinger 1A, breeding pheno - 84 days.

OK, here she is at last, chopped at 12 weeks exactly. This pheno is probably slightly lower-yielding proportionally than the last Goldfinger I grew, but it has more of the traits that I'm looking for, and so will definitely be the breeding mother in the future.

This pheno is much more Flo-leaning than previous, with darker green, perfect leaves, burgundy stems and purpling, foxtail buds, with the pronounced Flo structure of a 'spear' bud followed by smaller pyramid-shaped ones down the stem. Like other Goldfingers, the aroma of this one is the trademark floral/spicy/earthy, but this has an exciting berry/blackcurrant overtone that is really special, and hopefully will come through in the smoke too.

Other handy traits are virtually no budleaves, meaning trimming takes minutes, as opposed to hours with the original Malawi Gold, and a fairly controlled stretch, and compact size, meaning it's easy to grow indoors. It also always dries quickly, which means I can sample this beauty by the weekend...yum...:)

46. MoFlo 1B, pheno #1 - 71 days.

46. MoFlo 1B, pheno #1 - 71 days.

I finally chopped this MoFlo beauty at 71 days; a ten-week Flo-line plant is something special indeed, and this could definitely have gone eleven weeks no problem.

It's totally different to every Flo I've ever grown - in that it looks much more like 'normal' cannabis, and more sativa-leaning to boot. The buds join up into a cola, the leaves are soft and bright green, and the stems are bright green too - a slight purple/grey sheen to the calyxes, but that's the only 'color'. The only clue to the parentage is the smell, and the resin content. It reminds me more of some Blueberrys and indica-leaning F-13s I've seen.

The smell is possibly the most complex yet - though the Goldfinger is pretty damn good. But this one is has toilet soap, incense, fruit, compost, citrus, berry, floral - it's amazing, and really unique. What's more, different buds seem to have different smells. The resin aroma lingers on your fingers for ages afterwards, and that's when the Nepalese Temple Hash smell comes through. I can only assume that with a ten-week plus flower-time, the high has to be amazing.

I can't wait to try this one, as I think it's going to be something really unique...:chin:

Thanks doobie - I have to say I can't leave those buds alone - I have to keep stroking them whilst they're hanging just to get another whiff. One thing I've noticed with all the offspring of this 2nd-generation MoFlo male I used - of the Flo incrosses and outcrosses with other strains, every one has seen a drastic increase in resin coverage, and gained that sugary, spicy Kush smell. It was the first properly resinous male I've seen, and I'm really pleased I got some pollen from it when I had the chance...:)

Thanks mate - much appreciated coming from you. I only wish those dead leaves hadn't happened, but it seems peculiar to this pheno - it has a very nice time overall. I'll have to see how the clone veg's out, but the smoke looks to be supreme. I'll try and wait as long as I can before sampling, but it's gonna be tough...;)

47. 'Project X' (Goldfinger X MoFlo) - 63 days.

47. 'Project X' (Goldfinger X MoFlo) - 63 days.

Now here's an interesting one - a few months ago I posted some pics of a test clone of an experimental cross of Goldfinger X MoFlo, and I just harvested a full plant taken to maturity.
To recap, Goldfinger was a cross of Malawi Gold X Flo, and I used two Flo males, one purple sativa-leaning, and one green indica-leaning. The female Goldfinger plant used in this cross was from the green indica male batch. This was then pollinated with a 2nd-generation Flo incrossed male (MoFlo), from the original purple sativa-leaning male.

So this resulted in a weird polyhbrid of 'mostly Flo', and some Malawi Gold, but ascertaining percentages is impossible, and pointless - I just wanted to see what would happen. The most exciting feature is a flower-time of nine weeks - down from 12 in the Goldfinger, and 15 in the Malawi Gold - an almost 50% reduction in two generations. This may be fluke, but it's not bad!

The other traits of note are massive resin coverage, compared to previous generations (that's the resinous traits from the MoFlo male, I'm guessing), and large, rock-hard buds - this pheno definitely yields more proportionally than any of the parents. The smell is a deliciously weird mix of spicy milk chocolate, fruit bubblegum, mint and mushroom compost - similar to my JLo experiment in many ways.

I've already smoked some of this in the past, and it's still an up high, but with a little more body than previous generations - I didn't keep clones of this plant as I've got plenty of seeds, but it's a very promising start...:chin:

great work EM. how is the appalacia doing so far?
Looking good, though I've narrowed down the five to two - three males, and no room, so they had to go. Both phenos have purple stems, but slightly different-shaped leaves, so I'll get some pics soon and update that thread.

GHETTO_grower - thanks for the kind comments - it's a labour of love keeping this updated, but I think it's worth it in the long run, as most good things are...:)
