clones have 3 leaves

ihave 3 clones that are about 3 weeks old, they're bot 10" tall and i noticed that a couple of the top new branches only have three leaves. what does that mean ?thnx for your help

It's usually caused by some kinda stress.

The majority of the times I've seen it in my garden it's been due to root binding, and ceased after transplants into larger containers, so check into that first.

Edit: although now I relize I'm posting to the hydro forum LOL. Depedning on ur system you may not evern have them in containers.. Either way it's caused by stress be it stress to roots from binding, over-under fert, but either way stres is usually the culprit

I have also seen this when you take clones from flowering plants. If this is the case it should grow out of it in a bit. I have a WW with 1 blade leafs...decided to clone after was already about 14 days in flower.

I ALWAYS get this. I clone just before i put my plants to 12/12. I put these clones under a cfl light, they go into flower really easy, prob due to the shit light there under.. Anyway, these go under my HPS lights when my previous grow is done.

They always start with 3 leaves, there like the flowering type of leaves. After a week of big bright light. back to normal 'veg' leaves.

I have also gotten three leaves on my plants. All of my mothers have recently converted to three leaves. I have them in pots and my clones in hydro exhibit the same thing in new growth. I'm really not sure why my mothers would do this. Anyone else get this as well?

thnnx you guys. i've had other people tell me it was because of under feeding,but hey have been stressed a little too.they look like they'll be fine. it's just a curious thing.you guys rock thnx again..

Most of the time that I have had plants with 3 leaves it is mostly from stress. From my expierence they turn out okay after a week or so in veg. Just put them in larger containers to begin the veg and you should see an improvement in about a week.
