Apollo 11 LED UFO Grow

Hello everyone. I'm new to ICMag but have been an observer for a little while. What I have to share with everyone is a closet grow of Apollo 11 that I got from Joey Weed. Because I wanted to cut on the energy consumption, I chose to try out the LED UFO which is said to only use 90 watts. This will be my third grow. My first two where of Cinderella 99 that I used a 400 watt HPS. I really wanted to grow her again but Joey Weed has been sold out for a while. She was really amazing and I can't wait to get my hands on her again. So anyway, welcome to the journey....

I've had both the c99 and apollo 11, i was much more satisfied with the apollo 11 really a head high but the c99 loved to pack on them crystals. :joint:

I've been doing some research on UVB lighting and found that it increases trichome production and THC production significantly. I'm definitely picking up one of those reptile lights that emit around 20% UVB during flowering.

nice way to edit your pics, its see funny out ;)

I have seen some following of UFO against 400W HPS, in vegetative bot work great... but seams intensity, or spectrum, made the ladys go slower in flowering. HPS were producing bigger buds.

btw, im also trying some LEDs... but with homemade systems. My UFO:

good luck with your project!

my LEDs are

460-470nm blue
645-655nm red
Viewing angle (20-30)

255 led boards (2)

I made a few additions as things had progressed. A single UFO can't support ten plants so I picked up another one and added 2 single-bulb T5 lights to add some other parts of the spectrum. I also picked up a flowering T5 bulb and a UVB T5 bulb to switch to when I decide to go 12/12. Because the single UFO couldn't do much, my babies stretched and they had to be tied up for a few days.

looking good I'm very interested in your LED grow; love the idea hope it works well for you. Keep us posted.....

It's been a long time since the last update. I took some pics about 3 weeks ago when the plants were still in veg. 5 out of 10 turned out to be female....50% isn't bad. Now the plants are about 3 weeks into flowering and looking lovely. The LED-fluorescent combo seems to be OK so far...i can't wait to see how they turn out. I need to upload some more pics but i'll do that another time. One thing that i noticed is the loss of the lower leaves from the bad penetration of light to the lower section, but LEDs don't penetrate good so it can be expected. :nono:

Damnnnnn nice grow. I see what you mean about the penetration. Led's would prob work really well in a micro sog though. Can you point me in the right direction for some led panels?

I'll be watching you!:lurk:

Close to harvest

Close to harvest

I just took these pictures and i'd they are close to harvest, maybe another week or so. The smell of these plants are amazingly low, but when you smell the buds up close, they're amazing. Now i'll be flushing them out with a molasses solution. I can't wait.
