Anyone have experience growing mexican bagseed

Z

zoolander

I grew some mexi bagseed outta some nice fluffy type of hybrid that came out very frosty and stoney . This was not brick and nice to start with.

I thought I was growing out some mex bagseed back in March, but I guess I'm too far north in the US & ended up with some Kush genetics from Canada instead. No complaints here, but I still have some fond memories of the Red, Gold & other mex sativas I smoked back in the days...

well todays mex isent or I should say rarely is the pure sativa that I and many others started out growing over 30 years ago, then you could really find some great stuff in those seeded bricks. Not saying you wont find some jewels today, just not the pure sativa, I belive it was the early 80's when the skunk indica crosses started coming in. you could really tell the differance. I could ramble on for ever on this subject, brings back alot of good old memorys.

I just put my other Oaxacan Gold into flower. This one began throwing male flowers at about 21 days last time, which I put down to stress and overcrowding, and it was pulled. Since then, another grower has put it into flower, and it's at about five weeks with no nanners, so I decided to risk it again. There'll be pics aplenty as soon as there's something worth showing...

have some bagseed im playing with, and there is one pheno that smells like a straight skunk. even after only 10 days of veg, it started smelling like some fuckin daaaaank! interesting to note that also the stems are turning a dark, reddish-purple color. have it been veggin them for a little over a month with some lst. normally always purchased seeds from dr chronic <fast mailing> so hopefully we'll see what the bagskunk can do next week when i induce flower.

bagseed is fun, never know what your going to get...

umm, I may have a little experience with mexicans, or weed that got imported through mexico.

Some really neat plants, and the basis of everything I work with at the moment.

I love the looks of the foxtailing ones the best.

some of it came out of brick too

I've got a very nice michoacan sativa which has a deep dank musky leathery aroma similar to a colombian gold i've got,but she's got slightly fatter leafs and a little less stretch then my colombian when flowered and she's the same mexican i've used in my F1 mexican chronic.

Here's a pic of her just before harvest at 10-11 weeks

Morning folks,
This is some bagseed that I started out growing, I have a few more seeds from the same batch that I will be working this season..I may cross Nirvana's Ice with this and see how it turns out.....Stay safe

My girlfriend and I recently stopped in Manzanillo for a few days and met a personal grower.
It's the weirdest thing... No matter what continent I'm on, I seem to attract the company of like-minded people.
Anyways, our new friend invited us over for some cervezas the next day. Got to see around the garden, smoke some herb with la familia, and talk about Canada (They used to live there). Turned out his son just got back from BC, which again was really weird.
Anyways, it was the first time I'd ever smoked Mexican weed, and wow. I'd only ever heard bad things about it, but the truth is that I have never smoked finer herb in BC, Europe, or anywhere else. The smell was all chocolate and spice, and the taste was indescribable. Juicy, sweet, mouthwatering. As for the high, it was really complex - energizing, talkative, and most of all happy. Everyone just had the biggest smiles plastered on their faces and thats the part about this weed that I remember best, because once the mescal started flowing things got kinda blurry.

I realized that it isn't Mexican weed that sucks, it's the growers... the difference between big commercial ops and guys who do it with love for their plants. I told him that I've never heard someone speak so passionately about their plants, and his wife said that he's been growing and breeding the same plants longer than they've been married.
We ended up staying for dinner, and before we left he gifted us some seeds.

Needless to say, I'm excited to run these. I really really hope that my end product is comparable to what I've sampled, but I have my doubts. This guy has been doing since before I was born, and all outdoors. I'm thinking it's a possibility that my 600W doesn't have the balls to tighten up those buds like the sun does... but then again, from the plants and bud that I saw it wasn't 100% sativa so who knows?

I just popped around 25 seeds a few days ago, so we shall see, I guess. I should probably throw some other plants in the room just in case I'm not happy with the end result.

Hah, I just realized that this might be the first time someone on this forum has grown seeds from Mexico and ended up with a lower quality product than the bud they came from.

We'll see...

First plant I ever grew was a seed from mex brickweed, grew it under a 400W in my closet, thing got 9 feet tall, I kid you not, it just wouldn't stop stretching.
It still to this day is one of the biggest yielding plants I have ever grown.

I just popped some LUI x Blue Moonshine. For grins I also popped a couple bag seed beans. The bag seed showed white pistils at 4 nodes and is looking like it will be some nice smoke. I've gotten some real gems from bag seed in the past.

My last run with bag seed run looked just like TFD's "The Pure". I told everyone it was Skunk and no one questioned it. But they all begged for more.

Hell, it was all bag seed at one time!

Just curious, what was the appearance of the seeds? (big, small, mottled, gray, etc.)? I found some huge-ass seeds in my last mexiweed...

Not sure if that was directed to me, or the original poster.

But, I can clue you into why you found huge seeds.

For whatever reason, pollination of the pre-flowers results in a single huge-ass seed. I was clued into this by someone on another forum, and for giggles I pollinated a small bud and a couple pre-flowers. Sure enough, the pollinated pre-flowers produced single seeds double the size of the others.

It's also happened when I had a hermie. I found several large single seeds at the pre-flower sites.

I have no idea why this happens, but it does.

What about the commercial indoor grow op's in mexico?I mean, who's to say that those guys don't order seeds like every body else.

Got some mexican bagseed my buddy brought up to me. I'm gonna sprout 'em, see what happens. He said the bud it came from was amazing mids.

I am also sprouting some White Widow x Alaskan Thunderfuck seeds I got, and a random single seed I found in my pile of vaped bud, so I have no idea what bud it came from, but it must of been something good. WHo knowsss....

I grown bagseed outside with great results, one of my best outdoor plants was a skunk #1 that came out of a brick of downtown brown. Inside on the other hand the results have been crappy, pretty much a waste of time. Hermies and swag, don't waste your space.

you are rite i read about how all these farmers in Mexico are starting to use high quality genetics in these huge greenhouse grows. there catching on to the whole strain game. i can get Mexican Mid-Grades that are better than most of the B.C. Bud or regular KB that is usually around. its pressed but not to the point were the buds are flat you can still pull nice round buds out of the brick its lime green very few to no seeds. its always different but always taste and smells great and gets you ripped it has a very indica knockout high so i no its not Mexican Sativa.

but i also grew Garbage Mexi brick the first 3 years of growing. i always got some really nice plants that seemed to be hybrids but you do deal with allot of them putting out bananas near the end of flower. some go full blast hermie from the start of flower.
