What's new

How do they look?

I have two Sour D. x Og Kush at about two and a half weeks .... they are in cups and are under a 8 t12 40w flourescent light fixture right now.... I used fox farm ocean forest soil and added extra perlite.... i have been watering them once a day and been trying not to over water them.... I seen that the couple leaves at the bottom look yellowish and seem to all be looking druppy... what do you think?

the sour og likes to go from wet to almost dry. i grew it in ffof with 30% perilite and it seemed to like a good watering every four days or so :rasta:

i should have already been giving them fert.? from how old? And transplanted them? into how big of a pot? Any other tips? Should i water them every 2 days or what? Because i pick them up or stick my finger in them and they feel so dry, so i water them about every day once.

wow supi1012 your SDxOG came out sexy as hell.... its a bute... thanks for the info. im gonna change my watering every day to every 2 to 3..

over watered, I wouldn't really fert them that soil has plenty in it for now.

You have holes in those containers?

yeah the cups have like 6 holes in them.... i just going to stop watering them everyday and go for every couple days.... my white widow from greenhouse is growing and looking nice........ :canabis:

the ph was around 6.5, Today i took the one that was looking the worst and cut the cup down the side and looked at the roots, they all seem to be in one big clump insted of spread out..... Someone also said when they looked at the roots and the soil they said it wasnt getting enough water? they said the soil isnt soaking up enough water, when you pour water on them it comes right out the bottom of the cup right away and doesnt soak in???? im not sure what the problem is because i get some that say its the water, then some say overwatered, and some now say underwatered and some say its the soil, but everyone told me to use ffof....... i dont know what it is but i need to get to the bottom of it because im losing all my babies 1 after another..... it hurts to see them die..... :badday:

when i let soil get to dry my water just runs though it aswell put a tray under your plants so the plants can suck the water back up

you only need to be watering your plants every 3 to 4 days

Just use the lift the pot technique, you let the plant take away all the water, then you weight the pot with your hand(its light)....then you pour water until it comes out in the bottom and weight the cup with your hand(its the heaviest it can get)...and youll always know when to water by feeling the pot.
its the only method i use to water and i neverwater...i water when its very light cause mj likes dry at least sativa hybrids...

i only give my babies water when they feel like it lol.

If its light as hell by the end of the day when you watered them in the morning, then just give them more water...(i doubt it btw :S)

igethugh23,
click the link in my signature for the lift the pot technique medusa22 is talking about.
btw, when you do water them, you want to give the soil a good drink 'gently' so its flooded across the entire cup of soil and then soaks through to slightly running out the drainage holes. Never water with just a little bit of water. That is probably what caused the one you looked at to form its roots in that small clump instead of being well distributed thruout the soil.

Seems like it. I heard a lot about FFOF being too hot for seedlings.
I went with the Happy Frog soil with Light Warrior and coco coir for the seedlings. My seedlings seem just fine.

I've grown with FF OF for a couple years. Seedlings are iffy most the time - and seems worse lately. I can get them to grow, but its a slow and difficult start - and I loose some along the way.

I had a chat with my local Hydro/Grow store - Fox Farms makes a product called Light Warrior that is intended expressly for seeds. I brought home a bag for a test drive. I did 16 in soil straight from the bag and 16 mixed 50-50 with the Ocean Forest Pearlite mix I use for growing and Light Warrior.

I will check back in a few days and tell you the results.

Don't fert yours - they are not hungry. Yet!
