Mandala seeds: Satori

Firstly, grown all organic outdoors.
Secondly, I only have the sativa/spear pheno left, the indica/bat pheno buds are no more (got taken from me). This mainly for the sativa pheno, but I will add in info on the indica pheno where appropiate.

After hearing so many good reports on Satori, I was looking forward harvesting and smoking Satori probably the most out of the strains for this year. I wasn't disappointed, I plan on buying 2 packs for next year (this will also the first time I have grown a strain 2 years in a row). Imho the one to look for is the indica pheno...more trichs, more dense, more aroma, and a great high. The indicas bud leaves turned purple, and the trich coverage was excellent.

Anyway, on to the report:

lemon: yup, the indica smelt and tasted like lemon/menthol too, especially when I made some hash from it. That one is the keeper, imo: yield, looks, power, very pleasant high...
Its strange, the more sativa-looking one gives you buds that are more indica-ish, and vice-versa.
 ah well..off for some more Satori, even if it is the sat. pheno. :D

Damn...that looks nice!!! To my ever lasting regret, however, I seem to have reentered the Great Alchemical Game of growing after Mandala went under. They would have been the first seeds that I considered. (Unless, of course, some kind soul can tell me I'm mistaken and the seeds can be purchased again.) Glad someone is reaching Satori!!

I really hope Mandala will open again, I'd love to grow Satori again to get the indica-looking, pine-menthol pheno. Good to grow and oh so nice to smoke. It made me laugh out loud and go all giggly like a schoolgirl.

The Satori was a favorite of mine as well. The smoke report and pics was well done!

and is so cheap for the top quality!!
i'm so impatient for the shop and order

LOVED the Satori myself. I definitely ended up with 4 of the Indica phenos. I just realized that I haven't uploaded most of my more mature photos, but here is one from 2nd week of flower:

Definitely a great, smooth smoke. I could smoke all day and all night, still get high as hell every time. All of my friends LOVED it. I still have one giant nug from my Satori harvest that I've been curing for the last year. My birthday is this month, I figure I'll treat myself to my last piece of the great Satori. I hope Mandala gets up and running soon, I need to get myself some more Satori beans!!
Hope all had a great Holiday Season - Spy

Oh, and some of the leaves on the plant were f**** huge, similar to Saibai's pressed picture:

Great freakin' strain.

Hi Saibai

Hi Saibai

I've always enjoyed your thread.... Loved reading about the challenges of climbing the mountain just after it rained, hearing about the monkeys, and of course seeing some beautiful pics.

I did something similar. I grew out on a scree (small rock slide) in the middle of a densely populated city in South Korea. Unfortunately my plants didn't turn out as nicely as expected but still gave some buds and of course seeds.

Here is a Mandala plant grown with very little soil and lots of tree coverage that was harvested. Sorry about the pic as my camera was crap.

The following are of plants brought back from Cuba.

Unfortunately the above mentioned plants were yanked in late Oct by whom I suspect was a retireree who farmed a little piece of land close by.

Lastly, is a pic of of a Mandala grown 16 floors up on my apartment balcony.

The bubbler did its job and I kept this plant in veg by giving just a little extra supplemental lighting at night and a little more nitrogen.

I too am looking forward to seeing some great gear back in stock.

Keep up the good work Saibai.

Mandala has great genetics...

Mandala has great genetics...

Mandala genetics.... Quality through and through..

One of the many things which differentiates these good folks is that they they give the local of origins in their genetics. (I love that!)

Satori a beautiful cross of a Nepali landrace. Sounds good to me.

I neglected to mention in my previous post that the ultimate goal was to familiarize myself with propogation. Hence, I experimented... Learned to clone, made seeds, and of course shared the aforementioned.

Nevertheless, I'm right back in line and eagerly awaiting Mandala's line-up including a new release. Yeah!!!

Satori is definitely on the list as well as many others.

If it weren't for their personal business philosophy of offering quality F1's with landrace genetics, as well as, their personal committments and assitance to the community my view could be different. However, that being said....

I feel fortunate to part of their community. Now I can't wait to be in a postion to document and contribute.

By the way... Great pics...

Kindest Regards,

Are there any strains that won't do well outdoor, or indoor and why? All MJ grows outdoor for thousands of years. Now I can understand some strains won't do well in short summer colder areas and maybe vise verse but I would think most strains stand a good chance indoor or out whether extremes and temps aside. I don't pay much attention to whether a strain is indoor/outdoor and when I get around to growing more of what I've collected I hope I don't regret that.
