Intro - So this box was originally used for vegging plants for my outdoor crop this past summer, it was just laying around so I decided to put it to use. Here are some pics of some plants that came out of the box that turned into my outdoor crop (sorry no pics of those)
Strain - The strain is completely unknown, I spent a lot of time in the bush this summer and I stumbled across a plot of plants that were at about week 2 of flowering. I decided to take a few cuts from the lower growth (less developed flowers) and re-veg them. I took clones from them because the leaf structure was short and compact and the plants seemed to stay low - smell of the buds at the time was very lemony - thats all I know about the strain. I'm hoping it will turn out to be something decent tho!
Veg - The plants were revegged and eventually LST'ed, I was planning on scrogging but never got around to getting a screen which was a mistake since the growth isn't nearly as even as I wanted. Plants were put into 12/12 when they were about 4-5 inches in height with many shoots.
Flowering- I'm flowering under 2 42W CFL bulbs and I'm probably going to add a third this week. I need some help choosing the correct bulbs, I made a thread earlier this week and got no answers so I'm hoping I'll get some help in this thread. Heres the thread - http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=103438
Nutes - Been using the advanced nutrients brand of "Mother Earth Tea", used the grow mix for veg and bloom mix for flowering. Simply adjust the pH each time and I've never had any sort of nute burn/def to date and grow has been very good.
Ventilation - There is a layer of activated carbon sandwiched before the 2 exhaust fans side by side and then on the outside there is a filter that is hooked up to a 120V AC 3" fan. As far as small PC fans go the radio shack 3" 120VAC fans put any type of DC PC fan to shame, if I had to do it again I'd just use a few of these.
The bulb on the left is the "daylight" (blue packaging) whereas the one on the right is the unknown one that comes in a green box. Which is best for flowering?
Random shots - Very uneven canopy
This shot shows basically what I had in mind, I didn't let the middle of the "V" shape fill in properly but using this technique I've been able to create some pretty compact and bush plants with many shoots.
This is what I was aiming for but didn't let them go long enough
Comments/Suggestions are appreciated!
