ghetto grown but dank never the less. should get over 1oz dry per 2Liter bottles and 6in white containers. hope for a bit more towards 2 on the gal bags. here they are today. 100% canna coco

just b4 lights on. they are waitin for it .

whoever wanted a table of some sort. this is pot for pennies here.

here is my first try at neglecting a coco plant in every way. lol. just b4 an early chop day 55
grown in half a 2liter bottle.... 21 grams dry nug

now i monitor the ph and automated the feeding as well as dialed in my regimine. i think small containers do fine for personal consumption. coco rocks homie... just remember.... no matter what size your container.... flush it regularly to avoid probs... and be ready to move the lights.... they grow damn fast in coco and i got some light bleaching in a day of stretching. in the center of my trellis

I use 5 gallon bags. The roots still come out the bottom. This is my first coco run though, so i'll see how much root to medium there is after harvest, I'm pretty excited about that part alone.

next run i'm thinking about using coco mats right under the bags. a lot of roots come out and if i miss a water (hand water 2x a day) the smaller ones dry up. I'm thinking the coco mats may be excessive, but keep a lot of roots 'alive'

That's not a bad idea if you're of the mindset that any limitation on root mass will result in a limitation of bud mass.

Others though, like myself, keep their plants rootbound for the majority of their lives. I did this not because I think that coco "strives" in smaller containers bud because I wanted to limit it's size in vegitation, but I never got around to getting bigger containers for them. Here's how they're looking now, got a couple days left:

that's in 6L containers. Next time I'm going to grow them smaller and more of 'em, but I'm not apposed to getting bigger containers as well.

I use 75liter pots and Just picked up some 110's. Going to need to veg them larger though to make use of the pot size and so will need more height than my vegging caravan provides.

I start off cloning in plastic beer cups ( 2-3 weeks). I then transfer those to 1 gallon bags till the roots are plush and ready for transplant ( usually 3 week veg under 1k). For bloom I transplant to 5 gallon bags and 3 gallon containers ( whatever I have available). I always have trees in my bloom room.

I'm in 3 gal grow bags. The 2.5gal bato buckets look like they would be a great remedy for my drainage situation.
What drainage situation? :chin:

I'm just now about to make the switch from the 2.5gal square Bato buckets to 3 gal grow bags...

I start with 1-2L pots in Veg, then move to either 2gal square pots or 5gal nursery pots. I'm trying 12 2gal pots on one side of my cab in a 3x3 and 9 5gal pots on the other side in a 3x3. I'm trying to figure out which ones are more suitable for my cab right now.

I used two this round 3gallon pots and 5gallon pots. Yeild out of the bigger pots is much better but the 3gallons are more than enough.

I've heard that coco "strives" in smaller pots. I've also heard that no matter what the conditions are, a root bound plant will yield less. So lets see some numbers!

Some plants dont mind being a little cramped in smaller pots, they still do good, but do better in bigger containers. While others will trip if they are a tiny bit tight in their cups/bottles. These will improve quickly with a move up 50% space. ie. 1/2g>1g - 1g>2g - 2g>4g

though I am not King.

I am using pots that are pretty darned close to a gallon in here. About 5.5" and square. My girls seem to like them just fine. Working out the strains that can go in together and have found 3 that work for a short height run and 3 strains that will do a taller grow.

My space is 2ftx5ft with a 600 on a light rail. Last 10 plants came out and average 3/4oz I think. That equates to 3oz per sq/ft.

ive been running a little experiment myself with everything identical except the container size 3gal vs. 5gal and with the strain i'm growing the flower size looks close to the same, i did modify the watering times, with the bigger pots it takes longer to achieve runoff, i think with a watering style that keeps the nutes delivered properly root expension is more plant biology then food search so container size, within reason, is only one consideration. mtc, jc

I think you can grow any size you want with coco. The trick is the watering, you need to make sure the stuff stays wet.

haha wow :D

i use 1 liter cups for first part of veg - then i move up to 6 liters, and for flowering to 12 liters.

some plants like sativas i use 6 liter pots for flowering.

too big coco pots is no good - but neither too small..

i think with more light intesity and outdoors - there might actually be no limit in pot size - just depends on veg time.

i think the 110 liter pot for outdoor is a good idea - but we are thinking of trying something even bigger next time. around 200L ..lets see how it goes and what we select.

peace

Has anyone tried DrBuds HDSOG using the 20OZ pop bottles using COCO?

I'm thinking of cycling a couple into my setup once my mums grow out. I imagine they would need daily watering to stay moist, was also thinking of some hydroton sprinkled on top to help prevent evaporation.
