4x4 or 4x8 1k HPS Grow

I am looking at hydro huts I have a 1000k HPS and was wondering if the 4x4 can handle it. Second question is if I get the 4x8 can i run two (2) 1k as I have an extra? All feedback is appreciated

4x4 is the reccomended footprint for a 1K HPS I believe, so you should be right on point. If you have 2 - 1K HPS lamps, then a 4 x 8 area should be perfect. I am not too famliair with hydro huts, but the hydro forum might be a little more helpful, I know for soil grows, the above applies.

yes and yes. i had a hut running a 1kw and it worked great. both configurations can work great providing you have adequete ventilation. if its a hotter climate youl probably need the aid of an a/c. this is assuming you have sealed lights. ive never ran non sealed so i dont know how hot they can actually get a room. btw be careful bying those huts. altho i havent had a problem MANY have. supposedly the tent material creates a toxic gas for the plants, maybe even humans.

George- 10-4 i have read the same. I am going to do some serious research before I make final descion as the last thing im going to do is pay that amount of money for it to kill my plants

sound like a recipe for a furnace

You def will need to have a sealed light

My 600 hps, will heat my room by about 20 degrees c if I left it in there without being sealed. My room is 7 x 7

There is a new one called the sun hut a couple of members in here use them those do not have the off gassing problem

From what i have read the inside temperature will stay 10 degrees hotter than the outside the 4x8 is still under $500 dollars sounds like a good deal to me

i must say, IF you can do a DIY hut like that with actual walls (sheets of wood) that you can mount stuff too, i would do that instead.

my biggest concern with my hut is the passive intakes. its either you sacrifice a light leak for convenience or you sacrifice air flow for no light leaks due to the design of the intakes. building a unit like he one above would allow you to use darkroom vents without having to cutup the canvas on a brand new hydro hut.

Dont know if this was allready mentioned but if i were you i would go with 2 4x4;s very easily plumbed to single pump, 1k over each. sometimes gettin stuck with those bigass 4x8;s can be a pain.
