hi im wondering how long it takes generally for cloudy/clear trichs to become amber/cloudy?

i imagine some people will say depends on the strain. but what if u dont kno the strain? and is there anyways you can give some sort of estimate?

thanks people

i know this prob don't help, but can't you just look at em? Im curious too though, roughly how many days in flower before they start changing? or how can i tell, say i don't have a microscope thingy.

of course you can look at them, but just because i can find out tomorrow morning what the weathers like outside by sticking my head out the window, doesnt mean i wont check the weather forecast... ?

you are supposed to flush with no more nutrients and only water 1-2 weeks before you harvest... and many people harvest according to the trichs colors changing.

So this is where my ? comes from.

And btw, u can get a good 100x pocket microscope for like $11 at radio shack, its worth it

dont quote me on this, but maybe around a week to two weeks if not shorter IF there are already a good bit cloudy. A lot of people like to harvest when they are all cloudy though with some amber.

Depending on what you are calling cloudy, the amount of time could vary from a few days to weeks. Not to mention the environment and strain play a pivitol role in the process.

The trichs don't mature at the same rate, and usually you just figure the percentages. Ie.) 20 %clear 70%milky 10%amber. Some strains act differently, but a good rule of thumb is to chop with about 5 percent amber. Keep in mind amber trichs is just degrading the quality. Once you see a few solid amber domes in your microscope viewfinder, grab the chainsaw.

lots of ppl love more amber, and its all good. just not my preference. to each their own, hell i like goat milk in my cookie crisp and think its amazing. haha

goats milk on cookie crisp sounds amazing. Your question is a tough one with so many variables id say 1 - 4 weeks. I prefer clear and cloudy trichomes, I love getting high, not burnt, the flavor is more pronounced in my oppinion when it comes to the strains i grow.

In my experience, the end of the flowering process change in trics from clear to amber (all clear to >50% amber) generally took me 2-3 weeks.

For most indica's you have a window of 7-14 days. This also depends on the strain. Sativa's and Indica/Sativa hybrids have a much larger window. I like them mostly milky with about 10-30% amber... It all comes down to preference...

hey thanks for the help people.

i just saw a few amber, but mostly clear and cloudy still.

and the buds are not too fat yet, so i think i give them a little longer.

i guess it is just preference on when to harvest because someone else told me harvest when 1/2 are amber.

half amber is way too much for me

I have a couple plants that I take before I even see amber trichs.
