I did not find anything about OG, but I did find some interesting facts about the strain
wiki:
Kush refers to a subset of strains of indica cannabis. The origins of Kush cannabis are from landrace plants in Afghanistan and Northern India,[1] with the name coming from the Hindu Kush valleys.[2] "Hindu Kush" strains of cannabis were brought to the United States in the mid to late 1970s and continue to be available to the present day.[3]
Kush strains were among those cultivated by the British firm GW Pharmaceuticals for its legally licensed commercial trial of medicinal cannabis

OG Kush
OG Kush is a super-potent variety of medical-grade Cannabis with very distinct aroma, appearance and long-lasting psychoactive and physiological effects.
OG Kush is a mostly Cannabis Sativa hybrid, clone-only cultivar found widely in Greater Los Angeles (Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura Counties), California, USA. The species is rumored to be another name for the legendary Chemdog (a.k.a. "Chemdawg" or "Chem") cultivar of Colorado/Wyoming, USA. In this widespread rumor, a 'cutting' (clone) of the "'91 Chemdog" made its way to Lake Tahoe, California early in the 1990's and that OG Kush is an 'S1' (1st generation offspring of a self-pollinated hermaphrodite) of this crop but it is only privately available in clone form and not in seed. Although not a "Kush," OG Kush does possess some Indica (Cannabis Sativa, Supspecies Indica) traits and it is rumored that it may have some Kush bred in its genetic heritage. However, it is mostly a Sativa in both phenotype and psychoactive effects when consumed. Some have described its effects as both cerebrally and physically stimulating and it's smell as "lemony pine-sol." The mature flowers usually appear as large and dense, lime-green clusters covered with copious amounts of "white" resin. It has sold on average for $75.00 USD for 1/8 ounce in most areas of Greater Los Angeles in 2007/2008.
I thought it was a special kush cut spread by members of the forums on overgrow(website) that got passed around the community.... hence o.g.... I could be easily mistaken tho...
overgrwo..interesting thats actually the most logical answer iv heard especially the way OG is used in different thread representing old timers or former post
If you read the info above, that the OG originated around 91. The internet did not really start catchin on until about 1994. So it would be impossible for OG to stand for Overgrow(overgrow.com)
I laugh every time I read/hear anything about OG Kush. The whole name has nothing to do with what the plant actually is.
And I am terribly sorry , but with all that S1 and crossing, and no verification of what those "breeders" did to get that original plant, there is no way, on Earth, "OG Kush" deserves any of the hype it gets. The high isn't out of this world, it's just a good hybrid buzz that you can get from most hybrids out there. The taste profile isn't exceptionally different, I smoked some White Widow the other day that we all identified as having a "greasy, kind of sour Pinesol" flavor. The only thing OG Kush is is proof that in a world like the one we live in that with a cool name, a decent plant, some heady high, and great marketing skills, you will have a large cash cow in that brand name "OG Kush"
It makes me want to take time to cross some actual Hindu Kush Indica and call it "Real Kush"
Hey Bro, If you got some OGK fems from me you can call them whatever you want to Bro..They are yours to do what you please..What do you have BTW?..OGK x Ghani Kush or OGK x The White???
