Pre-flowers and hairs

Not sure what forum to post this, but I'm growing Hydro, so hopefully this is OK

I have identified pre-flowers on 4 of my 5 little babies. I see no hairs coming out of any of the pods. I literally have a headache from the low quality optics of these ebay scopes, but at any rate is it normal for female hairs to come out later? I hate to dismiss all of these as males, obviously.

I had a batch of seeds and the tallest, lankiest one started showing pre-flowers.

I was convinced it was male, but gave it a bit of time, hey-presto!

it turned out to be a female.

Well this is all new grow to me. Haven't grown weed in 25 years. So I can wait.

If you've balls with no hairs, be wary but, don't panic. If they start to cluster like grapes (right side) it's male.

Patience is key...if you cant tell for sure yet....act like they are still in Veg and give it a couple more days...you cant rush indoor nature

clone em and toss em in the dark for a couple of days. you should know in a week, and youd be certain. i did it last time.

Patience amigo, don't ditch anything until you see clear signs of balls, some plants take longer than others, good luck..

No ditching. If anything, I'm the other way. I'll risk waiting too long. I've spent so much time with them. I hate to get rid of them.

yea tossing males sucks last grow I had 15 beuties 36" tall and full and I only ended up with 6 females. I have been doing this for a while and I had all the proper lighting , nutes etc unfortuantely i just had a bad luck of the draw this time. Shit happens. Should you get more males then anticipated put your females in 5g pots / or spread on tray and let them babies take off. Mine are 45-50"ht and full with stems an 1" plus. So ill make up for my loss by growing larger plants

Here are some shots from today.

First is a longer furry flower. No idea if male or female.

Next is what appears to be a crab claw looking flower

Sorry for the bad pics. Neither seem to show the really round telltale shape of a male.

cbf is on the money...If they are male you will know..You have a few days before they grow mature enough to throw any pollen...Watch for hermie's too...Late in flower you'll be thinkin your about to have some pure delights and low and behold some nuts....Jus look for bananas..if ya see em.. pull em..

I know exactly what you mean about getting males my last grow i ended up with the six that i had all of them turned out males. From the looks of all my pics that i had they were doing very well. So i feel your frustration.

rrog I would say it looks like you have a female there. That looks like a calic to me, hairs should come out as well. but give it another day and you should know for sure. good luck...
