hey growers and tokers,

For years I have been growing different variety's of the good green, searching for that one plant that I just fall in love with, in terms of yield, smoke, flavour, looks etc...

After growing out an indoor mix seed packet I found a nice plant that "ticks a few boxes". However the overall yield is somewhat small but the smoke is great.

I have the mother plant, its an explosive plant sending many many side shoots, however i do not know the real linage as its from a mix pack.

Now I am thinking about putting her into seed, see where that road takes!!

Where do I start? in terms of what linage to introduce? (looking to keep the original flavours but increase yield), once the resulting X is grow out where then? do I need to backcross? will the next plant then remain in clone form alone? many questions!!!???? I have!!!

Any knowledge from the kind people would be most appreiciated!!

If you dont mind Smurf I would like to tag along wth your thread. I Have a kick ass cheese plant that I want to cross with a really strong Bigbud male fresh from Amsterdam. I have never done this stuff before and since I have 100 females in the house I want some seeds. But I DONT WANT a whole freakin house full of seeds! I am working on building an Isolation chamber now. But looking to learn how to collect pollen and possibly paint it on the female?

I am ranting ~~~~~~ Just tagging along! :joint:

Although I don't have enough experience to even think about selecting good genes and breeding and all that, this is something I am interested in doing further down the road.
Some questions I have:

What is the exact definition of back crossing? (Is this where you use a male to germinate a female, grow those seeds out, then cross the offspring with the father again?)
What are the benefits / disadvantages of back crossing?
How do you get a stable strain that consistently shows only a few good phenos over many generations?

I think they're all in the same vein, but you know what I'm getting at. I hope.

Yah lots of great info there. As for me, just chuck pollin from a nice male to a nice female. Walla.
