if you already have something planted in tight soil can you transplant into looser soil whne its 2 weeks old or so?
so i went to walmart today and got some bromothymol blue... to test for ph, and that stuff will only measure between 6.0 and 7.4 i believe. well i tested my tap water that ive been using, and it was as blue as blue can be... which means 7.4+. anyone know how reliable this stuff is? that would explain the trouble i've been having right?
so in that case, how should i remedy the problem? can i just squeeze some lemon juice in there? if so, how much should i do to balance out the problem? or should i just flush? thanks anyone who's watching.
Well...........if your tap water is testing at over 7.6, what it probably means is that your soil pH is a little on the acidic side. Personally, I would buy some distilled water at the drug store, start mixing it 50-50 with tap water and add some Epsom salt to that.Bedlam said:daaaaaamn. so i flushed four out of the eight. started with water around 6.0, all the
run off was 7.6+ at first, got it to about 6.5.
does that mean the soil is still way higher than 6.5?
Danger Mouse said:Bedlam, Don't know if this has anything to do with your problems, but do you remember what brand of perlite you're using? Miracle Grow perlite has nutes mixed in. If this is the case, your soil may be too hot for the young'uns.
