I heard from MyNameisStitch (sp?) here on IC that Ed Rosenthal is putting together the next BBB4. Stitch is one of the regular members here and he created a thread that pretty much puts all the information you need together regarding pests and nutrient deficiencies.....
Anyway, that thread was developed into a book (I forget the title...sorry Stitch) and that book is being published by Ed Rosenthal's company...
When I was speaking to him, I asked about the next in the series....he said that it was defnitely in the works and that he had an opportunity to preview it.
It's apparently going to be another kickass edition.

I encourage you to check out Ed's website to look for Stitch's book and eventually the new BBB. I loved the first 3 and have the calendar....eagerly awaiting any new editions.

1 more thing: the hardcover editions are just a few bucks more and are 100% worth it if you want a beautiful and durable edition of these masterpieces....
It's just too bad I can't get ed. 1 or 2 in hardcover anymore.....these books get alot of use...so I'm always lookin' for sturdy.

Peace out.

I'd love to see a Cannabible 4. I have the current three and they are awesome books.

I never cared for the Big Book of Buds. It was pretty much nothing but breeder fluff. Total waste of money.

big book of buds is pretty shitty in my opinion. it seems more like someone trying to describe strains by changing words around from the breeder descriptions.

I would say big book of buds series, and #2 being my favorite probably. You have to remember that they get there descriptions from the seedcompany-breeder, so they might be exagerated slightly, but I still drool over them.lol. The cannabible series kinda had to grow on me, but have grown to appreciate it. You have to take his observations with a grain of salt, becouse everyones tastes are different, and he is only trying a few samples sometimes of each strain, so it could of just been grown badly, or it was just a not as good pheno. Or maybe it could of been a great rare pheno for that strain. Oh and The big book of buds series has alot of other very usefull information besides strain descriptions.

Get the BBB.. it's got ALOT of useful information other than the breeder strain descriptions.. and on top of that every strain it covers is AVAILABLE in seed form.. can't say that for many.. if ANY in the cannabible series.. I've gotten cannabible 1 and 3 and ended up just giving them away because alot of the information in them is backwards.. alot of whats in his books just simply isn't true, for ex: Cannabible 1 he introduces herijuana and says it's genetic background is northern lights and hash plant. LoL.. n thats just one f*ck-up of several.

See, that's why I dislike the BBB and like the Cannabible. Ed takes whatever hype bullshit the breeder puts out and prints it with some stock photos. Plus, Ed throws out verifiably false information, too. Much of what Ed said about HAze was debunked on this very site by Sam Skunkman.

Jason takes photois of what the grower produces and takes what the grower has to say. His work with Nebu is beyond excellent and, as somebody who still has some Nebu genetics, I can verify what Jason says.

Breeders are out to sell their gear. Growers tell Jason what they know about the strain they are growing, and Jason will go with that since the genetics are only part of the process. Good genetics grown under shit conditions produces shit.

Plus, if you look in the back of Cannabible 3, JAson corrected information from the prior volumes, something I've never seen Ed do.

HI GobGoober. What did Ed say about Haze that was wrong? Not Disagreeing, just wondering. I learned to grow reading Ed and Mel Franks guides, so I have alot of respect for Ed. I would say he's up there in the top 10 of people who have done great good for the cannabis community.

Sensisoldier - Read what Ed says about Haze in BBB 1 then read the Haze thread stickied to the top of this forum (question for sam the skunkman on the original haze).

I just read the sticky about the Haze and skunkman. Sounds like he's right, But I just looked to see if there was any haze stuff in the cannabibles, and in #3 on page 149, Jason King says that Green House Seeds is the closest most of us are going to get to smoking pure haze. He also said the sample was grown indoors hydroponically in Amsterdam by the man himself. Hmmmm better not read cannabibles either. lol

I like the Cannabible series much more. I find it interesting and much more informative. King gives excellent smoke reports and good growth information most of the time. But mostly what makes it stand out is that if King says it's top notch dank then you better beleive it. He has no money to gain by lying. As with the BBB, the breeders pay to get their seed in so it's pretty much a seed bank catalog. Better info can be found cruising the web and reading what other growers think about the strain. That is much more useful than a sales pitch from the seed company.

Oh, and The Cannabible has way better photos.

Ehh.. i guess you're right about it being a "seed bank catalog" but hey, i'd much rather spend my time reading about strains i can actually grow if i wish to, but its like i said.. too many factual errors in the cannabible series, and i also don't see how it can be "informative" lmao.. it only gives descriptions of the smoke.. not how the strains grow etc.. someone here mentioned the Good Bud Guide.. personally.. i can vouch for that one.. one of my favorites!!

If one was to judge a book by it's cover,(something which I hope people with brains don't do) would it not be fair to want to compare it with the actual Bible? Were we not brought up to think that the Bible is some sort of inspired/divine scripture?...
Anyways, when a living person is mentioned in the same breath,so to speak, as bad quality bud, then I don't feel the agenda is right...from the get go. Continious snubbing of Dutch stains, methods and breeders... not my idea of a Bible. Just a book of buds, interspersed here and there with bias philosophy from the credited author. What started out as a good idea at the time, has turned, imho, to a one sided typical American view of the Cannabis world? Maybe Mr. Obama will show us all an inclusive USA, one in which the rest of the world count :chin:

The big book of buds sounds like a buzz, but I feel I wasted $ on CB... but who needs a pictorial when you have ICMAG!!!!! :jump:

Peace and good vibes
