What's new

It's cool to trim few leaves right?

I have these 2 clones I received from a friend. They are Island Sweet Skunk and about 2 month sold from what he said. However they are pretty small for 2 months he had them set up like over 12-18" from only 2 fluorescent t12 tubes. They are about 12" tall now. They were in 4" cubes when I received them and he said he was only feeding them water for a while.

I transplanted them to hempy buckets, super standard mix of 3or4 to 1 perl/verm. I have been watering every other day, total of 3 times now. First water I gave them 1tsp of gh maxigrow and 1 Tablespoon of liquid karma. Second watering just the maxigrow 1tsp/gal. Third watering I gave 1tsp of each maxigrow and LK. I dont have a digital PH meter, but I used some paper strips and they looked to be about 6ish I think...

Several leaves on the lower middle branches started getting really small black specks on them. The spots were really tiny, and I don't think it was any bugs. Like 1 or 2 lower leaves had black/dead tips. Also the steams have all turned a dark purple a several days before but have started going back to green now kinda. I couldn't find any pictures that really resembled it, and my damn cam is out of the house today of coarse....So I trimmed the bad leaves off with a razor blade. It wasn't a ton of leaves just about 6 per plant or so.

Is it cool to do this or should you wait for them to fall off?

Also any idea on what that problem could be? I started LST them a few days ago too.

whats happening,robin..?

i usually give the plants a hair cut during the first week of flowering.
i find that the less main leads you have the bigger the buds...and the more leads you have gives you many tiny buds below the canopy

matter of fact i just gave the legends sweet skunk self'd a trim this morning..
check her out...

like luaith said the first few (2-3) weeks of flowering..... i belive it forces the plant to want to grow more leaf's witch in turn makes more node's = bigger more bud's it all so helps the lower bud's get more light witch = again more bud... in veg i pluck the big leafs that i cant tuck away from hiding smaller lower bud site's.. then right be for flushing i trim all leaf's that have no tricomb's on them.... making flushing easyer/faster
