Looking interesting! I'll be watching as I am always interesting in stadium setups with bulbs hung vertical. I have to ask, how do you water? Looks to be a real pain.

ahh its not too bad...takes about 10 to 20 mins every 2 to 3 days...well at least for right now... I water from behind..i have a 20 gallon rez with a 300 gph pump attached to a 25 foot polly line...i aply pressure to the line to re regulate flow then i just go to each site...plus it gives me the time to look at everything...

Correct me if I"m wrong but aren't you losing most of your light in that set up? Vertical bulbs cast less light, no reflectors, and no reflective coating on the walls. What am I missing here, seems very inefficient.

Never seen this type of grow, so any enlightenment would be appreciated.

Hey Omenman your set up and plants look beautiful. Lokes I think your wrong, about wasted light, because most of the light is hitting the plants directly instead of a reflector, aswell inceasing the size of the canopy Stadiums Allows for more plants closer to the bulb. Under my reg set up i could run 20- 25 small plants but now I am able to fit 40 in my stadium, and they are all getting good light.. Good luck with the stadium.

I'm sorry, but you're a member of the ICMag forums since July and you've never seen a stadium setup? There are quite a few different stadium grows in these forums. Enlightenment can be had by a simple search. In fact, there are a couple stadium setups that are open-lamped just like this one. Most of the light is escaping in a horizontal fashion from the lamp. All of the plants are in the horizontal path of the lamp. Not too many lumens are going to be shooting back towards the socket or the floor, so it seems pretty efficient to me. Especially considering the amount of space he is using for such a high plant count.

omenman, everything looks real nice man. Love me some Sensi Star too.

I know you said 2x400W but it looks like a combination of lamps above. Is that an HPS in the middle of a couple of MH?

Definitely pulling up a chair for this one:
:lurk:

Welcome to IC man and good luck in your travels!

This looks potentially very efficient, I'll pull up a chair, vape, and an 1/8 to puff on. Looking forward to pictures of a forest of colas leaning into the center. I've never had Sensi Star, but Gold Star (Pot of Gold x Sensi Star) is one of my favorites.

To bigsmoke07: You can do a stadium SCROG with 1 plant and a single 23w CFL... 1'x1'x18"... You might yield +-1/4 oz from 3 months of growing 1 plant though :/

The light wattage is what normally determines the width of your stadium grow. These are estimates of the optimal grow area from bulb.
150-250w HPS= 1-2'
400-600 2-3'
1000 2-4'

Specifically, they are 10,000 lumens @
400 - 2.25'
600 - 3'
1000 - 4'

hey/// lokes this is probly the cheapest way to use the light the most efficiently look up northernfarmer then get back to me..that guy is like my personal hero .. if this works good i will most likly be building another 3 of these but using 600 watt digies and movers.....as for yields im hoping to get somewhere between 5 to 6 lbs.. and this will be off of 3 1000s.....

CannaGeek: dam...gold star?? that sounds amazing..sensi star is a good breading strain...good..wicked high,,, lemon petrol sent...no carbon can really needed but i have a can 100 i will bring now with a 8 inch can fan...

Quazi : yea in the pic theres 2 400s one HPS and one MH then one 1000 mh at the end... i was changing patterned of the light untill my 2 other 1000 watt hps get her..i bought them last week and the girl is just sending them out... retarded.. hopefully they will come soon..lol...On the brighter side... at least my green air CD-12 burner came in... Now all i have to do is build one of those diy controllers out of the teliare co2 Controllers..that should be interesting...

bigsmoke07: i actually made my first in in a 2 foot by 4 foot hydro hut... i used the 3 teir pre cut stairs at lowes..and nailed some 2 by 4s as the shelfs and the platform..,, it took me about 30 mins to make...

also I i will be closing the ends off in about a week or soo.. i put an extra 2 feet on the edges..one on each sided soo i can link them by another 2 by 8 to form a shelf on the ends..soo i will have 3 tiers...and as for the space on the inside of the stadium the floor... once i get my light meter i will decide if i could move some other plants that are flowering under a 600 and 400s... if the light is still good..i will be moving everything under neath the lights..soo wait in see.... all watering is done from the outside in... and using a 30 gallon res and 24 foot polly lines and pump... stay tuned :fsu: :dueling: :dueling: :dueling:

It seams there would be no better place for a light mover then a stadium setup. For $79 you distribute light evenly then strategically hang your others out of way of mover

great pics and system. Just finished my first harvest from my stadium. I love it. my flower room is 8 ft long by 6.6 wide with 8 ft of head room. running 5 shelves on each side with a 2 ft space down the center. two 1000 w hps and one 600 w hps.hand water daily in coco in 1 gl bags.I dident have the room full on the first run and still got 2.9 pounds that was at 2/3rds room capicity.everything was from seeds last run so have my revegged moms now so looking to get 4 to 5 lbs. thats my goal anyway.

heyy yup yup...with a mover i think i could push this bad boy to maybe 10 to 12 feet with just 3 1000s hps...What do you think> also there's a post out there i read about someone who posted that say if you had 4 lights in a line..and every hour 2 of those lights would go off and then the other lights would go on..and vise versa for 12 hours.. in a stagered formation

Light on _______ Light off _____ Light on___ light off___

.How would you think that would work? as for the mover ..im looking at the intidrive 5.0 the heavy duty one... i will post pics up later but my roof of this stadium is lined with 2 by 4s soo its goona be mad easy to do that...
