So im kinda starting a little experiment with my buddy whos a card holder and we will see what we get from some bag seed. Pics to come soon.

For now we got lots of cfls, adding more then ill give you the wattage
Should get some decent clones any day that will really be worth the grow once the system is proven to be able to sustain light.


Got some going in good sized pots, and some in 2-liters, and some in 20 oz bottles. Hope to get going on this so I can produce a real grow. I might need someone to help me whos got experience growing some random seeds to determine if my plant is worth keeping/cloning/breeding etc, and im gettnig there no my posts so I'll be here more!!!

Luckygreenhand: don't let anyone drag you down. I've seen some nice bud produced from CFLs and some people swear by them, in fact.

I would love to just throw in a bunch of everything but the prob is $, Eventually when room/$ isnt an issue, yeah HPS all around for everyone! for now its mico style with cfls i guess! In a while we should be running around 600 wtts of mixed cfls though, isn't that enough for a plant or four?

Whoa! 600W is a lot of CFL and a lot of heat. Be sure to plan for adequate ventilation and air movement.

If you plan on using so much wattage, why not go for a small HID or two instead? A couple of 250W or 150W would provide better penetration and won't break the bank. A 150W can be had (including shipping and lamp) for ~ $30.00.

It all depends on the amount of space and access to ventilation you have though. Start thinking about odor control now before later.

To answer your question though: yes, 600W of CFL is plenty for a couple of plants. Check out DrBudGreengenes' lab for any confirmation on the abilities of the CFL:

Thank you quazi and i know, Im not using nearly that much now, but the key is i already have a lot of cfls and lamps and other fluresents, plus fans etc. I have seen drbuds and eventually would use that many combined with two or more grows. For now 39 wtts in use or so and then an unknown amount. But i might do a few cpu case grows or something too, but im going to need help soon knowing if this seed plants even worth keeping and if its going to grow too big for inside, some mexi seed what are chances of a good female?
