What's new

5th week of flowering......

and I have an increasingly severe spider mite problem on the lowest portions of my plant. About a week ago I watered it with a neem solution. What else can I do to increase the period I can flower before I have to harvest, should I remove all the leaves that I see spider mites and/or eggs on? It still has around 9 weeks to go.

did you feed it the neem? if you are going for a 14 week strain like that then you could spray it with the a neem solution now and it shouldnt leave taste (experts help me out with that one, pure speculation here =P)

Yes I feed it the neem. The last time I sprayed neem on forming buds they dried up and died, so spraying it is out of the question at this point.

Neem will only slow them down and help stop the newborns from eating...

You can spray 15ml/G Lemon Joy 3 times per week to rid the problem. It will take a few weeks to do it that way, but it will work.

You can also try the pyretheum bombs - those work well, too... but you need to actually use 3 of them at 3-5 day intervals.

If you only have 1 plant also try SAFERS SOAP.

Either of the above mentioned will be safe as late as you are in flower... jst be sure to hit the plant with a good sokaking or two of h2o before you chop her down.

***when you spray do it at least 45 min before "the sun comes up" for best results IMO***

good luck

If you have a pump applicator that is adjustable from fine mist to hard spray(home depot by the vegetation kill, and bug spray crap) try to obtain some monterey garden insect spray. I know you don't want to spray your buds at this point, but this is not toxic to you. If you can get one good application, and spray both under, and over all leafs and buds, as well as soil, and the area around your grow you should be able to buy ample time. The borg is a monster, but this stuff slows them down @ about 12 hours. Picture mights overdosed on coke(notthecola) their dead and stuck at where they were at about 24 hours. I'd re-apply about two weeks later cause im not quite convinced it works on eggs.

Those strips won't do anything to your plants as long as the plants don't get stuck on them. If you hang them above the canopy line you have no worries IMO.
