should i make the chop before frost?

im growing a bubbleberry currently outdoors around 42N. this upcoming monday and tuesday will be about 28-29 degrees at night. will my plant be alright?? i was planning on giving it the chop on thurs but im worried about frost. will it fuck up my plant??-yb

hey young buck, at 28-29 degrees F you should be able to get away with covering it for the night. A piece of floatinng row cover works well to gain a few degrees, though I have notices that the pistils sometimes get zapped where the cover touches the plant. People around here are always covering their annuals with blankets...

it won't hurt them to go thru a hard frost but you should plan on harvesting the following morning unless you like brown flowers...light frosts (29-32) are kinda iffy and much depends on the plants' environment...and yes, cover them if possible if more time is needed. large carboard boxes and plastic garbage cans have done well for me in the past...
