Storing in the ground after dried and jar cured?

Once the buds are dried and jar cured to perfection, could you Seal a Meal them and put the packs in those 5 gallon plastic buckets and bury them in the ground for storage? How long do you think before quality is affected?

Of course they would be a couple feet deep from the top and buried in an area that is shaded. Anyone try this for long periods?

if they are PROPERLY dried and cured for LONG TERM STORAGE, then burying them underground would be fine as long as u bury far enough down so that u are below frost line (depending on ur location) once you bury down that far, the ground regulates temps very well and would be IDEAL for long term bud storage.

lol it works... when I lived at my rents house growin up thats how I had to hide my herb and pipes.

Dontstepongrass--I usually do a 7-14 day hanging dry then 2-3 month glass jar cure with daily attention. Can I get an uh...huh? ;0)

herbal essense-- well this will sound a bit unusual to some.... I think we are headed towards an economic time never seen before by the modern world. I produce quite a bit more than I can use. (at present that is none due to some complicated circumstances) I don't want it hanging around in storage and don't want to give it away as have done for the last 4 years. In the Great Depression, escape and pleasure items did not lose value... alcohol, cigarettes, etc. We are coming to a time that will make the Depression look like child's play. I want to put away my own "pot of gold". What worries me most is the opportunity for political and religious fanatics that such crisis' offer... the last time it was a key factor in the birth of Hitler. Everyone please pray to whatever God you hold true that I am wrong. No not a panic type person.... just a realist paying attention to the winds a blowin.

Thanks all. Will definately bury deep, at 38 latitude here. Plan to do my regular dry and cure.... then seal a meal in double bags... place loosely in white plastic containers with metal handle removed. No detection from metal detector. Then bury in a northern facing, year round shaded area. No map... just in the gray matter.

nice looking gallery, SacredBreh. I'd bury some O That, too! I've thought about burying also, but have a pretty good hide for now.

I do freeze some and it stays good for yrs, so if it's sealed, why go below frost (which is half way to China here)?

I like the freezing too but leaves a lot just sitting around. Would be best if at another safe location. Don't like having too many eggs in the nests. See you read Julian so know you know what I mean.

lol after reading your last post this is probably redundant, but i was gonna just add that you should have a couple diff holes in separate areas. since every time u dig into it the hole will look obvious from the loose dirt...

I knew a construction worker that would actually encase it in concrete before burying it. He would smoke like a fiend in the winter, but was drug tested during construction season.
