What's new

Canadian outdoor strain's eh?

I am looking for a strain that will actually finnish on time in southern BC with as little mold as possible, and be worth smoking.

All the time and money i put into my garden this year was a total waste in the end when most of my plants were destroyed by mold/not finnishing in time.

After experimenting with growing from seed I have found out that there is just to much variation (Even in IBL's) to grow them here . I need a plant that will not autoflower in veg and be clonable, but still start flowering mid summer so they are done before the rain. I have thought about setting out flowering plant's in early spring but it isn't an option due to the ammount of budding plant's I would have to bring in to achieve my goal. I also don't want to risk having plant's revert to veg after being put out early.

I am planning on starting seed's ASAP to select mother's for next season but I need some suggestions.

Guerilla from Ace Seeds .... :D

Dubi knows the game

"FLOWERING: 9 weeks. End September/ Early October"

Not gonna work. If the plant's aren't out of the ground by september 15-20th they will be destroyed by mold or just not finnish because of the weather.

Thanks. Do you have any expierence with these strains? They have the quality's I am looking for but I have heard that they have autoflower tendencies.

GG or GG x's, sure some types auto, but the ones that dont are clonable, finish mid sept were bred for your conditions, and from what i hear peeps are getting top dollar for the end product no questions asked...

Next Generation seeds has a lot of 50 day(ish) BC stuff. if you go to greenlifeseeds, under the listing of seed banks at the bottom right, there is a link to "more outdoor seeds" including durban, texada timewarp and a few others. Then there is dynamite which is supposed to be a heavy indica that matures in 50 (but most people let it go a bit longer).

Are you strictly growing from seed or going from clones? I suppose the f1 vigor would be worth it in an outdoor situation.

I grew from seed this season but next season I am planning on growing from clone because the variation with seed's has been screwing me.

I grew Next Gen's Timewarp IBL this season and it wasn't to great. Started flowering early but it dosen't have the greatest mold resistance and some pheno's didn't taste/smell/get you high.

I also grew another BC seed company's early durban, which didn't start flowering until september . Maybe if I grew out a couple pack's of each I could have found what I was looking for an cloned it, but that is nearly impossible to do for me outdoor's.

Timewarp (BTW a few of these threw male flower's which has never happened to me especially outdoor's)

like Maffe showed we have some nice mold resistant strain here that are breed for our harsh nordic climate but can be grown just about anywhere with just as good results or even better

Royal Dane or Danish passion are also 2 very good strains for just about anywhere
early mold resistant and potent
only problem is that they sometimes seem to be semi AF and hard to keep as mothers.

Danish Passion

IMO go with maffe truly genuis over there, and hey I tried a strain called shaman from dutch passion and got the earliest results I have ever had, I think I had harvested by late september at the most with no mould or mildew, only juicy fluffy buds, and hey im probly in the same region you are. As for autoflowering I've no clue but its a great plant I'd reccomend it for an early harvest

oh ya poo living out here sucks for the rain but screw it just keep on keepin' on and believe in the long flowering sativa cus im trying to hold onto some landrace genes from asia right now and the flowering is slow man soooo very slow, sometimes I just get sick of smokin' the regs that float around here in bc after like years of smokin' indica's we all should brighten our days with a little sativa so ima try n spread the seed.

good luck on the search you'll find what you need I mean god its canada I thought we had all the great genes, jk.

Just had to bump this. I ended up getting some of those clone only outdoor strain's from a friend on lesqueti.

I got K3 (maybe he said A3 but I am 99% he said k3)
Purplewarp (same as pinewarp I think)
C-Warp or seaweed as they call it
Polecat
And the original timewarp

Stoked!

Anyone know the lineage of C-warp? I got a big bag and It look's nothing like timewarp, definetely some of the best outdoor around BC besides the mighty mite crosses.

I have had much success with DJ's Blue Moonshine, etc... on the Island, so I know your pain with the mold!

My suggetsion is to Start your girls in Dec/Jan indoor and move them out in May. That way the plants are 'Mature' and will start flowering much earlier for a Sept finish:)

Cheers
