Nirvana strains - your personal experiences?

The only Nirvana failures i've had were White Widows, the only plant of the keeper pheno was a male :(

Northern Lights, Shiva, Cali-O, Bubblicious, all delicious.

With as many seeds as they move, the seeds you get are almost always fresh, just don't order something off the wall like Early Special or you'll probably end up with seeds from a decade ago, because I can't remember anyone ever growing Nirvana's Autoflower.

White Rhino- Got only ONE non-hermaphrodite female from a 10-pack, and the rest of my 25 strain (at the time) garden was fine. This was from stock from about 3-4 years ago and I heard many people had the issue at that time. That being said, the female was SEXY and I crossed her to a male Alaskan strain from the Kenai. This cross produced the female I now refer to as Foxy's Rhinofuck, whcih is THE STRONGEST hands down weed I have ever smoked and Stoned Cold will back me up on this, and so will a guy who just used it to come off a 9 year morphine script for a spinal injury. Verdict: Great strain for the $$, you may see breeding potential, pick pheno carefully!

Papaya- I recommend this to noobs and cashcroppers. Yields are consistently ENORMOUS. I have rarely encountered such a yielder. Buds are real fat and thick, like a small football (American). Keep humidity way low because they are TOO thick and may mold. Hairs are brilliant rust colored and plentiful when dry. Appearance is excellent, if not as frosty as an elite. Without a cure, it's not worth selling or smoking. With a month cure, it starts smelling llike its namesake and the punch will knock you on your tushie. Verdict: Cure it well and profit hugely, or don't bother running it at all.

Pure Power Plant- Big. BIG. Great bag appeal, good yield, spicy, if not particularly unusual, scent. Good high for day. As with Papaya, keep humidity way down indoors. Let this plant go 9 weeks. You can chop after 7 for production but you shoot yourself in the foot by being impatient. She bulks up a lot from 8-9. Very easy to grow and an IBL so back up your seeds! Verdict: Good production strain for someone who doesn't mind a 9 week finisher.

Afghani x Maroc: Hated it. Totally weird cross and wicked airy. Might have been better outdoors where the airiness translates to drying after a rain. But someone else can test that, lol.

Northern Lights: It's northern lights. What else do you need to know?

Skunk #1: See Northern Lights. I kept a male from this pack who I felt was the best individual, but junked the females (I have Mass Super Skunk and UK Cheese so it's redundant).

Chrystal: I recall it was very pretty and grew well, but didn't keep a mom because it wasn't as interesting as I had expected.

Hindu Kush: Straight up EASY strain, great taste, good yield, stunning frost when treated nicely. The merit of this strain is in its medicinal value- I run it as an anti-nausea strain for a friend who has a chronic nausea problem and whose daughter is has an eating disorder. The kid put on 15 pounds in a couple months and was able to undergo a surgery that required her jaw to be wired shut for 6 weeks- she HAD to be able to avoid vomiting at ALL during this time, even with all the pain meds. It worked. I have also made crosses with it that I hear are very good, but have not run them out myself yet. Verdict: Noob friendly and REALLY useful medicinally.

Wow Stinky, that was a great little summation. I've sampled the PPP as well and agree with you, great looking spicy buds with a daytime high.

It's very interesting that so many people have been dissappointed with the White Rhino as it came from Nirvana, but the same people who crossed the plant to something else always ended up with an amazing hybrid. RhinoWreck is a favorite of CapitolWellness, Sacramento's best dispensary, and it used a female nirvana Rhino.

Swiss Miss very hardy and easy to grow. I totally abused mine and she still delivered.

White Widow my favorite. Good yields very frosty and another easy to gorw. Have re vegged them with ease.

Afghani x Maroc I'm with Stinky on this one hated it kind of weak,

I'm gonna order Aurora Indica, Jock Horror and Ice as I see some people like it around here. Any tips on any of these, what phenotypes to aim for etc? I understand the AI has a purple pheno which is amazing but i don't know too much about the other ones. Also i understand the Ice really reaks? I have carbon filtering and I'm growing in a tiny closet but I'm still worried. Thanks

Hello,

My friend has grown many Nirvana strains. He is always happy with all the plants. AI for instance may or may not present with purple, but it stays a kicker of but! My friend is now growing their White Widow as well as Skunk#1. Really fantastic genetics, and not really much to do with luck... mind you someone once remarked that luck is nothing other than preparation and opportunity in sync!

Also try the Bubbalicious

Jock Horror(burnt the top with HPS too close, so bud looks weird after cutting off bleached leaves and top bud). The buds in front of pic are not Jock Horror.

Alright! Well I'm not really aiming for hoping for a purple pheno i just read in a thread someone else got it and it was a real keeper. Your friend might not be lucky but there might be something going on with his lights/medium/nutes to give him that good results. I know several floral plants that i can tune height, flower density, flower sites and color just by adjusting PH, different lighting and nute balance so it might go for cannabis as well?

the ICE has an interesting fresh green lemony/herbal funk, one I struggle to analogize very well.. imo the Nirvana isn't nearly as much a stinker as the female.seeds specs we've seen, but the smell is odd enough that it stands out. It is a great producer overall, and packs a heavy dizzying stone.

Lots of Nirvana plants will purple because of the influence from the skunk father used to make some of the seed, so goes the word.

Alright thanks. Would you say the Ice has a very heavy couchlock or is it somewhat confusing? I also heard their special skunk father is the reason why lots of their strains have purple phenos, but it's all speculations. I also hear many people say their strains generally smell lemony.

So after I've grown out a few and possibly found a keeper is it possible to reveg the best plant(s) and make it a mother for cuttings? Or is this a stupid way to do it.

Thanks

Hmm, I grew out some of there new purple power. The funny thing was that they just never flowered, I dunno if it was my problem or bad seed or what the deal was. I have seen more than a few nice pictures of new purple power on these forums but I think its a strain not worth most growers time.

The whispy pheno is real thin fox tailing buds that don't pack on any weight. I should not have labled this pheno as garbage... It has only been grown outside by peeps that I know. The whispy pheno could never be taken to maturity in their climate and thus was pulled from all grows. The dense bud pheno was better for their outdoor climate.

The whispy pheno, so to speak, could be great. Try it out.

ok i believe i have the whispy pheno for sure, i've have my plant under 12/12 forever (close to 8 1/2 weeks) and still no sign of preflowers lol... imma go ahead and throw it outside... just dont like 11+weeks idea. i was shooting for like 8,9. :joint:

Another vote for the White Rhino, performed well in a SOG setup, super fat buds, easy to grow and clone. Strong couchlock high, nice and frosty nugs. Would reccomend to anyone.

I am ordering another pack myself, and I may also order some AK-48, sounds like another great strain. Can't beat the price.

A big thanks to everyone who's contributed to this thread. I'm also looking into many of the Nirvana strains and it's good to hear/see that most of them are great (and a few of them are stellar due to the variability of Nirvana gene's).

Does anyone have experience with Nirvana's Hazes? Interested to hear / read about them.

Have 3 Nirvana White Rhino vegging at the moment, seems to be a popular choice.
One of them had 3 cotyledons and has continued a 3-leaf growth pattern all the way so far

I guess this is just a mutation rather than a phenotype?
Either way, the WR seem pretty vigorous, looking forward to flowering these :joint:

i got 14 nirvana seeds from a single seed order website, started with 7... all germinated
so far 1 male, 5 females, and 1 more unsure yet.

nice rare(telling from pics of other ak48) sativa pheno AK48, all around looking good and healthy.

also found on the web that aparently nirvanas AK48 is a cross of ice and jock horror...
so i would imagine its not exactly like ak47, maybe just simular sometimes.

It seems to me like nirvana is trying to add recessive traits to their strains.
there seems to be large ammounts of purple/hermy/w.e phenos at one time, so maybe thats because their trying to make them turn purple more rarely and are just selling the extra seeds from the process.

all the same, im impressed.
